Resetting the ECUs- Don't forget!

I have copies of the 1995, 1997 and 1998 owners manual . Neither the 97 or 98 manual say anything about the need to reacquire any engine parameters after a battery disconnect. They just say that if the battery has been disconnected for a long period of time it should be recharged every 3 months.

Page L7 shown in the link above (post 98) appears only in the 1995 owner's manual.

With the 5.2 the confusion may be related to diagnostic codes vs engine parameters. In speaking with our local Ferrari dealer I was told on a 5.2 DTCs and the CEL are erased/reset by disconnecting the battery , however engine parameters are not. I was also given a document laying out the drive cycle to be followed to reset the OBD II monitors.

That explains it. 1997 catalog # 1097/96 1st Edizione 07/96
Early print, versus later print. Early one mentions the reset procedure, it was removed in later prints.

 

Yep. My 97 and 98 are 2nd and 3rd additions.
