I have a very common English word with one syllable. If I change one letter (a vowel), I get the plural of the word and the pronunciation changes. If I add two more letters (one vowel and one consonant) at the beginning, I get a two syllable word that has the opposite meaning. The pronunciation of the first syllable changes, but not the second. If I change the original vowel back to it's original letter, I get the singular of the opposite word. The pronunciation of the first syllable changes, but not the second, even though I changed a letter in the second syllable. MAN MEN WOMEN WOMAN
DES. "If I were to ask you which road goes to heavan what would your answer be?" That is the answer to your riddle
I never was, am always to be,No one ever saw me, nor ever willAnd yet I am the confidence of allTo live and breathe on this terrestrial ball.
Des The one i heard is you can only ask only one question and you do not know who the liar is or who the truth teller is. each is standing before 2 doors - one door leads to death the other leads to freedom(works the same for roads, angels, devils). answer:You ask one - `If I were to ask the other which door leads to freedom , what would he say`. And then you pick the opposite door of what he tells you.
Just a correction for the post above. Some how I posted in the quote of the person I responded to. Is that not from the riddle of the Sphinx from Edipus The King?
Trick question. The 21st century started on Jan. 1, 2001. Not Jan. 1, 2000. The beginning of a century will always start with the year one, not the year zero.
There is a common English word that is nine letters long. Each time you remove a letter from it, it still remains an English word - from nine letters right down to a single letter. What is the original word, and what are the words that it becomes after removing one letter at a time? The base word is Startling - starting - staring - string - sting - sing - sin - in - I
Good Job. Quick. Try this one. There was a homeless man collecting cigarette butts. The owner of a store told him for every 5 butts he would give him 1 cigarette. The homeless man collected 25 cigarette butts. How many cigarettes will he have over all? The answer is not obvious.
He will have 6 cigarettes overall... The initial 5 from picking up 25, then after turning in the butts from those 5, he'll get one more...
Yeah I added the 25 for some reason. I got the thinking part alright, just the simple adding stumped me!
I have billions of eyes, yet I live in darkness, I have millions of ears, yet only four lobes, I have no muscle, yet I move two hemispheres, what am I?
