race just got underway. 34 cars entered, last race for the ol' crapwagons.

    crowd looks weak, as usual.

lap 6 right now, it's the standard terrifying 1.5 mile Indycar race

Will Power is out, looks like Dario wins the championship.

they just played it, looks like Saavedra made contact with someone and it was a restrictor-plate melee behind that.

red flag, this will take a while to clean up.

I don't know if it's good or bad that they haven't put him in the chopper yet.

I saw the wreck live but I don't think they've shown the replay from the live angle only from overhead. Did I miss it?

    Onboards...yikes!

It's horrifically bad. His car is covered and they haven't flown him out. :(

Tracy said they ran all the drivers out and some 20 docs are working hard on Dan. Something else about a long recovery.

I am sick to my stomach right now. Worst accident I have seen.

Not necessarily. It's possible they were able to stabilize him at the track before sending him to the hospital.

Dario seems pretty upset and doesn't like the track. I wonder if he'll restart since the title is locked up.

If you are the praying kind of person, now might be a good time to toss a few toward the drivers, crews and families.

Martin Donnely was the F1 driver's steward at today's Korean GP. I was visiting my uncle in london and watching on BBC the day of his crash. Unbelievable he survived.

    God speed Dan Wheldon.
