Thats really cool. Id imagine itd take a super skilled driver like Roland just to get out on the ice and back off. Imagine trying to work the clutch to get grip on ice in a F40 LM! Forza Roland.
I'd be really scared to take my car out on the ice; a few years ago at the Rangers game they were showing off the ML320's off roading capabilites at half time and it slid into the boards and took out a good chunk causing a huge delay (and alot of laughs)... Awesome nevertheless..
I have heard this car in person on three different occasions. The loudest being in sounds of it reverberating throught the French Quarter. I can't imagine how great it would sound reved up in a small hockey arena!!! More details stat!
Aesome picture. I really do belive that the LM is going to be a very talked about Ferrari for years. Did Roland get to swing it around a few times on the ice?
Why is this photo so awesome?? It's a pretty dumb way to show off your car...I guess to some folks anything with a Ferrari in it has to be awesome.... Boooooo, yet another dumb halftime show off..... VK
It is not a Photoshop. I talked to Roland last week about him doing this. The car was on the Ice at the Budweiser Ice skating ring Saturday evening before the Eagle's game.
Some may call it showing off... I'd call it sharing the car with people who'd other wise probably never see one. I think its great he's out there letting the average man on the street enjoy seeing and hearing his fantastic car. I think its a great shot and not a photochop job, three cheers to Roland! I don't think I'd like to drive it on the ice either, he must d@mn good with his clutch!
It's definitely not a photochop... & it wasn't dumb, either... Roland doesn't do things like this to show off; he does things like this for a reason; a good reason... Either it was a charity thing or a fund raiser or a promotion of some sort... Roland is a real stand-up guy; i can't imagine there's even one "stupid" bone in his body...
Why is it dumb to provide people with an opportunity to see your car? It's a fascinating car. I am sure 99% of the people there would enjoy seeing the car and hearing it.. I for one would. Hey if it were a Lambo or Aston - I would also appreciate it too. I don't know Roland but I hardly think that he needs to show off. I guess your the type of guy that take pleasures in raining on the parade. If you dont like the half-time shop go to the bathroom or buy popcorn.
I don't know Roland either and I really don't care how many "toys" he has...We've all seen his nice cars on FCat...To that I say - more power to him But why is having an F40 parked in the middle of the ice arena interesting and exciting??? And how many people in the stands do you think know what this car REALLY is or how special it is??? And what's the purpose of having a car, any car, on display on the ice?? Think about it - It's the ULTIMATE form of power and show off....Having your "toy" car (insert your favourite car here..) on display, far away from anyone's reach, standing along side of it, displaying your pride and joy....And you really can't do anything with it but display it...Like having a exotic car on a car show with ropes extending several yards around it. I don't care if it's Roland's F40 or Federov's Enzo in the photo....It's a big show off....Unless he was invited to shoot a beer commercial VK
Okay, try this: Shut your mouth, please. Then shut your eyes, and imagine what that F40 would sound like in the confines of an arena. If you could honestly say you wouldn't be slightly entertained, you probably need to trade in that 348 and get a Kia, or a minivan...
