Not quite so sure how to take that. I looked at this car in person and wrote a review of this car. I decided to pass and get a PCar instead. However, another beginner FChatter asked me questions in a few PM exchanges about the car and has decided to purchase the car. I PM'd back and mentioned he should post about it in the 308/328 section, but not sure he was going to hence the anonimity since its his car. Hopefully, the new owner will be excited about his new car and stay on FChat and update the fellow owners. If not, I wanted to update FChat on the status of this car.

I am the one who bought the car. I will post my private message to James in Denver:

    James,

I have been working with JeffHocker at Ferrari of Denver. They did a complete check of the car yesterday for $440. The compression numbers came back as 135, 135, 134, 139, 139, 137, 139, 142. They said the car needs a major service, water pump rebuild, and a few other odds and ends for a total of $5,900. I have authorized them to do the work. I figure why take the chance of driving the car from there to San Diego and having a problem arise. Plus, the independant here, Gary Bobileff, www.bobileff.com, highly regarded on this board, quoted me $5,600 for the same work. I would rather get it done prior to driving 1,100 miles for $300 more at the dealership there. I got the car from Castle Pines for $32,900. Not sure if it was the BEST deal out there, but at least I will now have my dream car of 19 years, I am 29 now, with a fresh service. The only thing I have to do with it when I get home is have the door ding guy do his thing and then get the staggered set of tires I want on it. Thank you for all your help, what you wrote on this board was very helpful in negotiating a few thousand off their asking price along with the advice of getting the PPI from Ferrari of Denver. Thank you again.

    Regards,

    Josh Ferguson

P.S. The odds and ends include new washer nozzels, wiper arms and blades, battery hold down bracket, and resealing the leaking shift shaft.

Thank you all for your input thus far. As soon as I get the car home and cleaned up, I will post pictures.

    Regards,

    Josh

Congrats, Josh. PM me when your car's over at Gary's, or better yet done and on the road - would love to check it out.

James in Denver: You've had the P-car for weeks already. Time to sell and get serious. You'd be on rennlist.com if I was wrong. ;)

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know :).

I heard ANOTHER rumor that my Black/Red 328 may be for sale in the near future (notice I did say MY :), its the one that I missed from FOW).

Even though I've had my PCar for a few weeks, I should probably hang on to it for a while then sell. Selling too quickly makes people wonder if something's wrong with it. IF ALL GOES RIGHT as far as timing, the 87 Black/Red one will be in my stable, oh, lets say in 4-6 months.

I'll wait for just a bit, if I can stop drooling. :)

    James in Denver

PS Keep the rumor to yourself (or shall I say "to FChat"), this time I don't want anyone snatching it from me :).

Well guys, the car is now home in Temecula. The drive was amazing, perfect weather. The guys at Ferrari of Denver did a great job on the major service. The job on the valve adjustment was done with perfection. The car ran strong the entire way. We got to Las Vegas in 9 and a half hours about 800 miles. Stayed at the Rio, and drove home today. What a car, thanks everyone for all the advice on getting the PPI done and then having the major done prior to putting the 1,100 miiles on it. Having this car at 29 years old is a dream I thought would never come true. Thanks again.

I have to agree with James in Denver. The guys at Castle Pines Auto Sport are one bean burrito short of a combination plate. Thank goodness the car was at Ferrari of Denver and I did not have to meet those chuckle heads. They had some goon pick us up at the airport, and he then took us to the bank for a wire transfer. He drove us to Ferrari of Denver where I got to deal with some professional people.

James, are you serious? Didn't one Fchatter just buy that car like a month or two ago?
