I am the current owner of Dino 8454 and just came across this thread: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5290 Anyone with evidence that this car was delivered to Sandra West by Hollywood Sport Cars please contact me. J.R. Mosier [email protected]
Thanks Wayne, that should get things rolling! Good luck to you, sir, you could also link to her surviving nephew by hitting his LogIn on the other thread..... He recalling rolling around California with her, in the cars.
Hi, this is what I found in my dino register, does it make sence? 1990 until 2009 J.R. Mosier (?, CA, USA), 1989 until 1990 GT Motors Gary Thieltges (Glendale, CA, USA), 1984 until 1985 William G. Bennett (Las Vegas, NV, USA), 1983 Ron Tonkin Ferrari (Portland, OR, USA), 1979 until 1980 Roy K. Farris (Portland, OR, USA), 1977 until 197? John Valentine (Glendale, CA, USA), 1974 until 1977 Sandra West (San Antonio, CA, USA), 1974 Hollywood Sport Cars (Hollywood, CA, USA) Regards Matthias
That looks pretty complete, however Mrs. West had multiple residences.. San Antonio Texas and out in California somewhere, so you can see the ownership migrating northward up the West Coast, towards Ron Tonkin's dealership in Portland Oregon.....
The Dino was delivered 8/12/74 to : John Cohen / Sandra West 1000 Cresent Dr / 711 Navaro St Bev. Hills, CA / San Antonio, TX Verde Medio Nijinsky/ Beige Interior
Thanks Matthias, That is pretty close to what I have in my files. I don't know anything about the Valentine ownership, and Gary Thieltges was a broker. I actually took title directly from Camille Taylor who owned the car just before me. Also, according to the title documents I have William Bennett had it until 1988. That fills a gap in your register. I also think that Roy Farris had it until 1983 when Ron Tonkin took it. That fills another gap. It looks like tx246 has a written record of the original Sandra West delivery which he can send out. It mostly matches what I was told 20 years ago, including that it was originally green. I didn't know it had the beige interior. however I'm not surprised. When the Bennett's painted it red they changed the whole interior to black leather. However, the records that Ferrari Market Letter describes are substantially in error. I've sent them information to fix it. Hopefully they will as many people quote it, and it's wrong. Thanks again, ------- J.R. Mosier
great, here the correction: 1990 until 2009 J.R. Mosier (?, CA, USA), 1988 until 1990 Camille Taylor brokered by GT Motors (Glendale, CA, USA), 1984 until 1988 William G. Bennett (Las Vegas, NV, USA), 1983 Ron Tonkin Ferrari (Portland, OR, USA), 1979 until 1983 Roy K. Farris (Portland, OR, USA), 1977 until 197? John Valentine (Glendale, CA, USA), 1974 until 1977 Sandra West (San Antonio, TX, / Beverly Hills, CA, USA), 1974 Hollywood Sport Cars (Hollywood, CA, USA) Did Camille Taylor owned your car for 2 years? Did he live in Glendale? No chairs & flares on your GTS? Regards Matthias
Thanks for the quick update. Yes, Camille Taylor bought the car on 3/9/88. She lived in Los Angeles. While we're on cities, I kept the car in Newport Beach, Ca from 1990 to 2007, and then moved it to Shady Shores, Texas where it remains today. Attached is a picture of the car in Texas 2009 ------------------ J.R. Mosier Image Unavailable, Please Login
I forgot to add, the car has GT seats, but no flares or Campagnolos, which I guess is obvious in the picture. Other than the paint and interior change, the car is stock, all original equipment and running gear, and has 8500 miles as of this week.
Very pretty! Where is Shady Shores???? I thought I knew most of the State. You'll have to join us on a drive, if you are so inclined....
We're about 30 min North of DFW. Halfway between Lewisville and Denton. Are you ever up here? ------------- J.R. -- Former Californian
After fully sorting out 8454's ownership history, and thanks to those who helped, I have learned that the first four of six owners have passed on. Should I be worried? --- J.R. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Did anyone ever DRIVE that thing? My car has 14k now, but only had two owners before me - the second told me he only had his mechanic take it out once a week for 5 miles to keep in lubed, almost never drove it himself. That poor car needs to be ridden once in a while!!
