I say we've got plenty of time Mark and Marc will do a good job I'm sure. But let them do it in thier own time...too many cooks spoil the broth. The '04 rally wasn't organised until may and that was fantastic. Anyway, before Scotland, we've got the Mille Miglia and I'm sure one or two other small meets Cheers Simon Now all I've got to do is find that Daytona before next summer....bugger
Well said Simon; I`m quiet Sorry...Wolfarossa is always too fast - like his "beast" DAYTONA???????? Hear, hear, Simon 12 cylinder-brother Good Luck!!!!
Simon, If you buy a Daytona I will be extremely jealous! And you are right! I think that the guys will do a good job! BUT..... I do need a date! I cannot arrange these days off at short notice. Ton
Gentlemen,I would suggest July, though this is the height of the tourist season it!s for a very good reason,THE Weather, and even then it"s somewhat of a lottery(understatment) Dave Mc
You are kidding Simon you wouldn`t drive to scotland without your "brother master of the shots" YOU can`t drink alone To me, January- December its fine and anyway but for my wifes schedule we have to set a date till December 04.
It is the Whiskey that is dangerous! Not me!! I am worried about Wolfgang's schedule. For Anja we have to set a date till december 2004!! This means that you guys have exactly one more month to organize the meeting! Ton
Chaps... I am not sure how long you are planning on visiting Scotland but if you want to take in some Sight's, City's & Scenery my suggestion is get the ferry from zeebrugge to Rosyth... 1) You can visit South Queensferry which is 2 miles from the ferry port and take in the views of the forth road bridges..(nice pubs) 2) 12 mile drive from here will take you to the heart of Edinburgh, cruise up princes street (making loud noises) lots of cafe's/pubs etc etc.. 3) From here you could drive north to St Andrews on the East coast and check out the famous Golf course & Sea views? (45miles) 4) Next up you could cut across the country to Gleneagles Golf course for a spot of lunch? (50miles) 5) Approx 15 miles from here you have Knock Hill racing circuit which holds a Ferrari day every year in August (on a Saturday) 8 hours of Ferrari's flat out on this fast twisty circuit ..Worth a thought Dave? 6) The next day you could head north to Inverness (east coast) (approx 180miles on the very scenic A9 7) Stay overnight at Inverness then perhaps drive north again to the very top of Scotland "John O Groats" approx 100 miles It has a good hotel/restaurant and that's about it.. (apart fromt he views)! 8) Drive back south heading for Fort William (Western Scotland) via Inverness taking the stunning drive along the bonny banks of Loch Ness trying to spot Nessy!!!150miles? 9) Spend an evening in Ft William (lots to do/Ben Nevis etc) then up early and head south down the A82 driving thru the Glen's toward's Loch Lomond... 100 mile drive? 10) Head to Glasgow City centre (15miles) for a City Cruise and perhaps a display in George Sq? 11) Depending on time the drive back to Rosyth is approx 50miles so the route can be direct 1hr or indirect/scenic 3/4 hours.. Its just an idea but it does take in The east & west coast's of Scotland and a fair few distillery's on the way!!! Any thoughts Dave?
Rod, sounds pretty good DISTILLERYS & NESSIE!!!!!!!! Thats what the dudes are looking for -some beautiful country roads / highlands / greeeeeeen hills -nice hotels/catles -drive as much as possible -always enough to eat & drink, drink inthe evening! -maybe cause its so far away we should think about a Wednesday-Sunday trip?! -arrival on Wednesday going home on Sunday?
Repeat? Take a closer look: There are three different quotes. One from each part of my multiple personality. Man, this is always a hard fight about who is allowed to drive the Ferrari. Time to buy a car for the other two also .... Meanwhile we haven´t advanced much wrt the date, have we ...?
Try to get in touch a.s.a.p. with Mark a.k.a. Malfark! He is the only one who could help you We call it the "Malfark-Syndrom"!
Rod, Great plan! Just remember that it (in Europe) is not allowed to drive in a large convoy through cities, etc. Normally you must have a permit by the local police or local authorities. I am looking forward to it. Ton
