I have just got back in my 2013 Califorinia 30 after a few weeks of not using it and gone to turn on the radio - no screen, no noise, no phone, nothing . Everything else works - I cant find a specific fuse for the entertainment unit. I've studied the list and there is a "Radio, diagnostic socket, CAN box interface" fuse. I have to assume this is the one, but it's not blown. All help and suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks - Just to clarify? Do you mean disconnect the battery TO reboot?

That worked - thanks!! The boot (trunk) release stopped working though, but on a second reboot that started working again. The negative terminal was a bit tricky to access - I couldn't even see the +ve terminal.

If this was my BMW doing these strange things, I'd be livid. I just seem to accept it with the Fezza.

I just had the exact opposite sequence of symptoms. First my trunk would not open; not from the button on the key fob, the button on the floor or using the key under the lip by the license plate. Nothing. Silence. I disconnect the negative side of the battery (pretty clever little pressure lever, btw), reconnect, and vuala!, the trunk works. Now the radio/infotainment is completely black and unresponsive; even the back up camera doesn't wake it up. I pull the fuse, test it and it is fine. Reinsert the fuse, and vuala!, the radio/infotainment works. Weird electrical gremlins at work...

I know it’s been said that the unit that is used in the dodges and Chrysler’s differ from these radios but it’s what I have in my dodge truck, and apparently was the last year they used that unit before going to the really big screen in the Chrysler’s. Having used one in each make they “appear” the same.

I have mine go stupid at least a couple times a year and the only thing that seems to do anything is to pull the fuse to reset it. I did update the firmware in the unit and it does it less then it used to so don’t know if that is an option on the units used in the California or not. Can’t speak to the trunk issue except that I had issues once with a rental California not opening the fuel door or trunk. It had apparently been an issue before because the maintainance guy from the rental place came to the gas station I was at and did something that took all of 30 seconds and both worked again. I didn’t see what it was as I went to the restroom and came back and it was working.

The manual key opening method not working on the trunk is odd. I will note that the key is hard to turn and the position of the key hole exacerbates things. This has happened to me a couple of times and it helps to have a second person push down on the boot while turning the key.

Az - maybe in your case, the rental guy performed the trunk reset procedure. I'm vague on details after a long day of work, but let me Google around and see what I can find.

OK. Think this is what I was recalling. Hope, it's relevant,

    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/help-cant-open-trunk.375406/

This was my Google search string...

    site:ferrarichat.com trunk reset key

there appears to be multiple threads on the topic for a variety of recent F-car models.

I'll add that in terms of finding what puts the trunk out of whack, I have a sneaking suspicion that in the older California that threading the charger cord from inside to outside may have a role. I find that if I keep the cord away from the latching mechanism and closer to where the boot carpet/felt is, the issue of it not opening with the key is almost nonexistent. Also, I gently lower the trunk with all the pomp & circumstance a Ferrari deserves! Probably just cursed myself, butthis feature happens once every 3 or 4 months now. Then I just grab the old lady & tell her to push down on the trunk while I turn the use key! [emoji2]

As to the radio, I do my best not to use that. I found the infotainment manual by happenstance the other day, and started reading it. Totally useless. I think the French translation was about as lucid add the English directions.

Radio sound not working on 2017 California as well as touchscreen. Brought it to dealership. Fix was unplugging the negative connector on the battery for 10 or 20 seconds. Put back conector. Everyone works as normal now. Just had to reset the clock.
