Especially after the 458 Italia looks sooo much like a heritage product from the P4/5

Amazing that a car that has problems on the first lap could return to do so well. I guess 24 hours allows for a lot things to happen.
LOL - The A-M at 3:30 with the cockeyed RF wheel sans tire would not give in and kept going!

BTW, I didn't see those girls at 2:25

    I just noticed something...

On the same weekend of the 15th and 16th of May 2010 there will be:

    -The 24hrs of Nürburgring
    -The Monaco Grand Prix
    -The Mille Miglia

Aren't there enough weekends in one year to spread out the events...?

I was hoping to go at all three events. I guess not...

    :( :(

This kind exemplifies how there is no real English coverage of this event. I can even get the free practice sessions in German. I've sat through a few DTM races in German, but a highlights real almost needs commentary.

No, the Monaco Grand Prix Historique is held the 1st and 2nd of May.

In any case, if P4/5 makes it, I'll try my best to go to Germany.

After all, the MC GP is only a few meters from my house every year and also the MM is always there...

I think James is okay with the information being out there as he specifically sent those photos to me for publication. Makes it easier for sponsors to get in touch I presume.

Thanks for sharing the progress with us, Jim!!

Well if you haven't seen the beginning of this years 24h race I have something for you which will get you even more excited ;). The race started with a brilliant battle for 1st place between a Ford GT and a Manthey Porsche... take look, my favourite is Part 3, that is some seriously close racing ;)

    Part 1 to 4

    WOW! :D

That was some really CLOSE racing throughout and the speed at which they were passing backmarkers was incredible. It often looked like the Porsche 911 was faster but the driver of the Ford GT really made the most of the road to keep him behind. What ultimately made the Ford GT lose it in clip 4? Was he just pushing too hard to get away from the Porsche 911 or was it the backmarker being in an odd place that made him lose his racing line?

    All the best,
    Andrew.

    PS:
Jim, any chance you'll be mounting an in-car camera in the Scuderia Glickenhaus P4/5 Competizione? ;)

He tried to overtake the backmarker but he decided a bit to early to go back to the racing line and the BMW just slightly touched him at the right rear but at over 200Km/h and under braking so he couldn't avoid the spin... This is by the way a good example on how difficult the racing in the 24h race is, let alone in the dark. The speed difference is extreme big from the fastest guys (like P4/5 Competizione next year ;)) to the slowest class which are Mini's, Golfs and stuff like that...

But the most impressive thing was that Dirk Adorf (Driver of the Ford GT) put the GT on pole on his first flying lap of the whole weekend. He didn't drive in the practice sessions because it rained. Then he went out in qualifying and his first flying lap was the fastest of the whole session. And that on the Nordschleife, 25km with over 70 corners... Is it May yet ;)?

But over 200.000 spectators each year can't be wrong, can they ;)?

    Thanks. :D

That is very impressive, I guess he knows the track really well then. :)

Roll on May - this is going to be good. :D :D :D

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I still watch this at least once a week when I need to fulfill my need for good racing. Probably the most exciting racing I've seen.

It would be pretty cool to be part of the second Ford/Ferrari Wars.

I have three cars that fought in the first one...
