I posted a wanted ad in the classifieds but I wanted to post here also.

Currently looking to ad a new V8 to the garage. I’m open to a number of Ferrari models. But the 355 obviously punches all our buttons. So if you all see (or have one up for sale) in any shade of blue or off-red (non Rosso Corsa) please get in touch with me.

Looking for a gts or Berlinetta only.

I’ve also posted in the 328 section and will also search for a 360/430. Several cars on my list. We definitely want more v8’s.

I’ll pick up the First blue or off-red example that I find that ticks all the boxes.

Thanks for your time and any info.

    Robb

I know there are owners thinking about going after other cars. So if you are thinking of parting with your 355, contact me. I think I’ll be getting an F1 this go round.

Looks nice. Will have to ask about the build date. Thanks for the link.

My guess would be Feb or March of 96. Shows date of first registration is April 96. Unlike US cars, there is no production month and year on the door jamb plate.

did you see the three pedal 360 spider in the Rosso Rubino (I think) in the individual classified ads? Asking price seemed pretty attractive to me.

Right. But you might like a V-12 with lots of HP and torque and inexpensive major service bills every five years. Don't let too much time pass before you enquire.

I’d like to add a v12 but out of my budget currently. Once challenge car sells I’ll probably go that route.

    So new V8 first.

That's sound reasoning, Robb. I fully understand.

looking for one as well (except 3-pedal). How difficult / expensive is it to import from Europe?

You will have to wait until the "date in service" occurs 25 years later. I think this will be when the car was delivered to the first owner. There is also the manufactured date but I am not for sure which the DOT looks at on import.

So you will start to be able to import early 94 cars now and some 95 later this fall. For 96-99 cars you will have to wait another 1-4 years.

Cost is a approx $4,000 shipping, 2.5% import duty, and you may have some additional broker / titling costs in Europe to make sure you get a car and not an empty box for your money.

I’m located in Canada, I wonder what our regulations are like with respect to the age of the vehicle. I believe duties are in the range of 6% for us Canadians. Guessing the $4k for shipping should be similar though.

    Thanks Robb!

I updated my main “adventures” thread.

Good news is I have found my next car. This one will be stealing the best spot in the garage.

Stay tuned for good stories and photos.

@Robb - Congrats!! Doesn't seem to be much out there by way of 3-pedal. Will just have to be patient I guess.
