Friend of mine is selling his Pista to get a 296 GTB with AF package. Is it that good? I haven't driven the 296 yet. In my opinion Pista still looks amazing compared to 296.
I would advise him to wait until he had an opportunity to drive the 296…..depends on the type driving experience he is looking for.
The 296 is actually a nice driving car, looks..not so much. Personally I’d keep the Pista- one of the best looking modern Ferrari’s Vs one of the worst.
It's about the same as selling a 430 Scuderia to get a 458 Italia - trading character for efficiency (I take this comparison on purpose, because it shows it's actually a debatable call and not an obvious choice).
Just be cognizant of the forum you’re asking this question on. Try the 296 forum and you’ll get lots of different response.
Tell you friend to put down the crack pipe and slowly walk away. He may not deserve to own a Pista so on the other hand he should sell.
Zero comparison between the two vehicles. Pista is truly a design masterpiece and the engine, drive and character make it an instant classic. The vehicles following the Pista have yet to have similar cache. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I’ve already commented on the SF90 Stradale Forum.. I sold my Pista in UK & Pista in Spain 6 weeks after my SF90 AF car turned up. Máde the Pista redundant, different level but wouldnt have swapped them for standard SF90.. however I’m not convinced by the V6 Hybrid 296 so no way I would have sold Pista for a 296 GTB AF…
if you can afford a Pista, then adding a 296 to the garage should not be hard choosing between the two is a silly question
The 296 should be considerably quicker, if that means anything to the buyer. Otherwise, it is a matter of aesthetics.
It’s quicker, and so is cooking your filet in the microwave, but nobody wants that. I’ll be test driving one for fun on Tuesday. But my 458 Spider isn’t going anywhere. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Ok, let’s ask a different question. Would you guys sell your F8 Tributo for a 296GTS? Really love my F8 but not sure I want to have the money tied up on both in my garage.
