Silhouette thread

I am trying to learn about hese more and more each day..

I see some have a different color leather stripe in the seats and some are a solid one color..?

 

Different colors yes but the factory interior has the center stripe on the seats as well as two sets of speaker holes in the headrest to the left and right of the center stripe.

If it is different then the seats have be recovered.

Also dash and center console were both mousehair from the factory.

Correct as it relates to all Silhouettes originally having a mouse-hair dash.

But bear in mind some cars had fabric-covered seats.

Interesting about the seats, but how about the black colour at the front spoiler, some cars have and some dont? Is there any logic behind? (I suspect not, this Lamborghini we are talking about ;-))

Did Lamborghini ever mount speakers in the Silhouette seats? I seem to remember that Recaro used to make a seat back in the 70's that had speaker holes in the seat and you could mount speakers in them.

Can I make a suggestion?
This thread will eventually fall by the wayside. Just my experience over a dozen years.
I would like to see this combined with the Urraco thread and renamed the "Silhouette & Urraco Thread"
Then maybe more activity will keep both alive.
These cars are basically the same.

 

As in my Urraco, the coolest thing on these cars is that steering wheel!

 

LHD cars have the four spoke dished stering wheel.
RHD cars have a three spoke wheel.

 

thats because its a rhd

to the best of my knowledge nearly all RHD urraco and silhouettes dont have deep dish 4 spoke urraco wheel.

The black lower portion was factory correct and original.

It gets painted after or on top of the body piant.

A lot of cars, my ex car included after a repaint choose to leave it body color.

My ex car (40076) had a bare metal restoration paint job but the interior is original.

 

Yes, my ex car had 2 factory speakers in each headrest.

the red brochure car with balboni driving dosent have the black painted front spoiler, interesting to note it has the bright work windshield trim as well. it may be the early pre-production protoypte car.

the white car brochure car dose have the painted lower.

 

That sounds right.

When my ex (40076) was featured in Car & Driver magazine it had the lower black painted chin.

 

I wish I had more information on this Silhouette for you. It came to the 2003 Italian Concours and we had it parked right next to Tony's old Silhouette. Pretty incredible sight to see (2) Silhouette's side-by-side.

I'm not sure what happened to the car. I just remembered that it was owned by a couple who trucked it to the event from Whitefish, Montana.
