There are other pictures of this damaged car, taken in the same place around the same time, that enable a positive identification. It ended up in the graveyard, was rescued by Stefano Pasini and rebuilt as the white car that used to be in the factory museum.
Here are some more photos of the Silhouette for sale in Luxembourg. With a rear wing in these photos but without on the website. And are they Jalpa rear lights? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's not selling at that price... I bought the car last year, but the seller didn't respect his words & contract, playing a tricky game to sell it for much more to that dealer, but keeping me under the hands untill last minute in case the dealer didn't buy it !
This car had acquired Jalpa rear lights and the wing several years ago but thankfully good sense prevailed and they were eventually removed.
silhouettes look great in black...too bad they added the , non california vitaloni's, wing and jalpa lamps
Probably done 20 years ago. Fairly easy to revert back on that car. Love the black/bravo theme! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Those pics were taken before the restoration was finished. It now has California mirrors, Urraco rear lights and no wing. Nevertheless there are still some dubious aspects....why the red pipes and the non-period Lamborghini badges etc?! The central panel on the door cards should match the seat colour and the arm rests should be black...I could go on...
What let me doubt about this ad, the car has an italian registration from Rome and the cars around seem also to wear italian plates. Unless the car is physically available at the dealer I'd consider it as a ballon.
I haven't been able to find an Alpine CM-630, but have found a CM-620. Anyone know anything about this radio/cassette and if it was ever OEM? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
A photographer friend and I took advantage of a lovely March day to get some shots of the Silhouette as it emerged after a little work over winter. We tried to recreate the 1977 Silhouette brochure shots. We had fun doing them, hope you enjoy viewing them... We also had a go at the front cover of Car Graphic from Dec '78. Not quite as successful as the sun was too bright and its taken from a surprising high angle, probably the back of a pick-up... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Glad to see you are having fun with your Silhouette. The identity of the of the red brochure car is uncertain. There are four possible candidates. It is likely that the pics were taken during testing, before the windscreen surround and front spoiler had been painted black.
car graphic car is one of the two prototypes... did you retrimmed your seats with strips? i dont recall it having stripes when i last saw it
Yes I have, the interior is a little closer to original, although not exactly. When did you last see it?
when it was in cali. i dont remember the 2 black knobs under the dash on the left? good to see you bring it closer to original... mirrors converted are too. will we be seeing Rame anytime soon? that would be spectacular i reckon Image Unavailable, Please Login
The two black knobs under the dash are the controls for a hidden sound system. The control unit is behind the switches dash and the fascia is in the glove box. I used the holes cut for the electic wing mirrors so nothing was cut to install the unit and it can easily be removed. Via the two knobs I can turn the unit on, change volume, switch between inputs e.g. aux 1 plays the cassette on the Alpine unit, aux two is the iPod input. I updated the seat speakers when I had them retrimmed. But the best music comes from behind. Retrosound Classic Car Stereo :: Zuma :: Zuma Radio - Black Nose Cone & Buttons - Classic Car Stereo - Vintage and retro style car radios and speakers Colour change to Rame is in the plan, but earliest would be next winter. I have two paint shops looking into how it could best be done. I took a load of photos of the rame countach that was up for auction at Monterey last year as reference. I agree, it would be spectacular. The wheels are scuffed so when I get those done I'll do them gold as I expect rame would have come with gold wheels, unless anyone knows differently. I'm still looking for any photos of it when it was rame if anyone can help.
I was able to buy Rame Colorado from APS Tower Paints for a model car I built. They are known for matching colors, but I can't say for sure since I've never seen the actual color in person. It was a base/clear paint. Not sure if that helps or not...
