The white on white one has sun visors, how common were these as mine doesn't have them? Liking the red one's Blaupunkt Bamberg or Berlin radio cassette player with Schwanenhal (swan neck controller) and recording mic so driver could dictate a letter while on the autobahn. Its early 80s so not quite period, but great fun. I have a later version in my '89 BMW M6
Hello, sorry - could not get where the shots were taken. There are a lot of American cars in the background - other photos show Alfasud and Alfa signs. So it is not taken abroad - think in Germany or Italy. Best, kuntatsch
Cars delivered with a clear screen always had sun vizors. When delivered new to Switzerland this car may well have had a tinted screen but the vizors may have been required in Germany and perhaps the reason for the twin colour lenses fitted to an early bumper ie not the same bumper or lenses as fitted to your car.
Many thanks. Meanwhile I have reached the conclusion that these pics were taken in Switzerland. Why else would there be lots of red flags with white crosses and white flags with red crosses in the background?! And those gas guzzlers were popular there at the time...
actually they depending on the model, i think they came out in the mid 70's so it would have been period correct. i recall my older brother had one in his 911sc. they went from uber cool to really goofy now they are back in vogue again.... much like the ventilated fan ski googles i once had! i wish i'd kept mine. cheers ps the 6 series may be the next car to sky rocket?

Bit wet and chilly at the Goodwood Supercar breakfast, but still a good turnout of classic lamborghinis... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Classic Car magazine offer a reader a month the chance to drive their dream car, by an amazing stroke of luck I was selected and offered a Maserati Ghibli for a day. So last Friday I drove the Silhouette into London and to the dealer who was loaning the Ghibli and I, the journalist and a photographer (following in another car) took the Ghibli out for the day in leafy Surrey. What a great car once you get used it to. It's lazy like a US V8 but likes to be rev-ed. The red line is at 5500, very different to the manic silhouette which revs madly to its 7500 red line. It also handles like a US car, there is about a 1/4 turn of the wheel before anything happens which makes it a bit vague through fast corners. Read more when the article comes out in a month or two. I left Kew in London in the Friday rush hour the night of a Bank holiday weekend. The roads were packed and then the M4 was closed due to a crash. To cut a long story short it took me 4 hours to go 30 miles. But the Silhouette behaved perfectly: no overheating, no tantrums, it could have been a modern euro-box. Who would have thought that of a 38 year old Italian junior super car. Same cant be said for my left leg which suffered serious clutch knee. It was a great day out and when I finally parked up the silhouette I felt very proud of the old Lambo... Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's what I thought too but when I've seen this color on a Countach it looked darker than the silhouette color or Jalpa prototype
Rame Colorado = LAM0024 Can only be made by PPG afaik. I do have the paint formula, but not for posting here...
Email it to me please and I'll check it at my local PPG shop. They couldn't find it listed but if they had a formula they could mix me a sample. I'd love to see the color in person but it's pretty rare so not very likely I'd come across it here
