Absolutely no reason NOT to own two or more, if you love the cars. At this point, my stable is full, with a '78 308 GTS, '70 Jaguar XKE coupe, and a Corvette Z06. But if I had the chance to buy an '84 or '85 QV, or a 328, for the right price, I'd definitely expand my holdings. In a perfect world, the perfect two-some IMHO would be a carbed 308 and a QV sitting next to one another in my garage, and just having to decide "which one will I drive today?"

    Life is short. Enjoy it!

BT, that's the BEST PICTURE EVER!! I love it. See, cars and booze DO mix.. fantastic!

Also, your quote about what a woman will forgive.. it's so true and one of the primary reasons I am single! Not that I'm complaining. I have a date w/my Mondial tonight. She ALWAYS puts out. She's such a sl*t.

Two 308's? That's nothing. I know a guy that's owned at least 15 Europas, and as many as 4 or 5 at the same time at one point. There's 3 distinct Europa models and 6 overall. With the 308 you have 3: the carb, i, and QV. Of course, the complete collection would be a glass, a carb, a two valve i, a QV and a 328 just for snicks. Just don't get them all in red.

Don't forget to get an S and a B of each too. Plus you have to get a gt4, and the 208's just mentioned.

It was made for the Italian market specifically for tax purposes, so not a North American specification, however Mr. G, NYC owns one now so while it is used on the Italian events it could possibly return home to the US eventually..

    It's a 208GTB, not a 208GT4, so that's two more different models there!

It's never mentioned as a "T" because ALL the 208s were turbos, it's a given...the later 'T' used in the Mondial series refers to the transmission configuration.....

How many 208 models were there? Did they have carbs and FI as well?

    IIRC that's correct, Ken..

The early 208GT4s the later just before the 328s came out the 208GTB...you have seen the thread where Napolis bought his???

A 208GTB is a very rare car, and the GT4s don;t exactly grow on trees!

Hey, the early 208GTB/GTS with carburators had no turbo and only 155 hp, the turbo came in 1980 with the fuel injected cars. The 4-valve 208 also got an intercooler.

I was in the same position a few years ago. I had the GTBi for a number of years and wanted a GTS. I settled on a 328 GTS as the price was too tempting and the car was local. I would recommend the 328 over the 308 as it's a bit more refined.

I love my black B, but when I saw a gogeous yellow B for sale I ALMOST jumped on it, couldn't let go fo mine, but maybe in a couple of years, I could have both! And if prices do go up, what's to loose by having 2? D.

Nothing silly about it at all. There's another 328 GTS that I want to add to my stable. It's a high mile, WAY off-color car that probably won't appeal to anyone else, but I dig it and have been patiently tracking it. One day it will be mine...

    Indeed ---

    I'd rather have (10) nice 308's than (1) F-40!

I actually thought about doing this about a year or so ago. I could go for an early euro GTB.

Do what you want. It's not a bad idea.
