430 siphon oil change possible?

    was thinking...has anyone done the siphon oil change trick? how many quarts would come out with siphon? safe to do?

    I've done it on my non-ferrari cars, it works well, but I don't plan on using it for the F430

    It's safe to do I'd say, but I'd rather be completely thorough

    Likely will not work. A friend tried on his 458 as an experiment (Aeroengineman). He bought a well reviewed kit, and invited a bunch of us over to observe, critique and help. He suctioned from above from top side, and if I recall correctly, only got about 6 quarts in total. Did the traditional method, and got the rest...another 4 quarts. He posted a thread with pictures in the 458 section two years ago.

    It may work better on a wet sump engine...but with any car, it will require some testing to confirm everything is coming out, like my friend did. Every engine design is a little different.
