Thanks for these informations. About a good food and wine, why not,you speak certainly very well Italian ?
I had a 328 GTS in Italy for several years until the $ went south. Driving that car on the back roads of Italy was something I will never forget. One of the great ego trips of all time. Went to Maranello and a couple of M.M.s One thing I did decide was that I did not have the time or skills to learn Italian Italian. Keep the pics and reports of your progress coming. tongascrew
Hello Guy,as you know I arranged the contact to the owner of your new engine within 6 weeks I think, and I told you by mail that I also know a suitable gearbox in Italy. But do not know if its for sale, I do this all without ANY commision. I am in april 2009 in Italy and will ask . The problem is that those poeple think its liquid GOLD. A good bottle of Franch wine will be appriciate for making contact and buying you 're new motor. I am convinced - and know for sure-everything for old Ferrari's can be found. When you have Patience. The - OLD -Maserati boys among us have FAR more problems. Its ONLY a hobby here. ciao Cornelis
Jim, Looking great, as expected. Forget about my question of yesterday regarding the bell-housing, in this pic it shows perfectly straight, as one would assume it to be.
Cornelis, I am happy to meet you here, yes I know you gave me the contact with the owner of 083S , yes I remember and I thank you very sincerely. It will be marvellous if you had thought now a gearbox !!! Liquid GOLD ...If I have not too much $$$$ (but we'll see the price) on the other hand I have a great Patience. I am convinced also that the gearbox can be found. Many thanks.Guy

Perhaps it's this box (see the thread for 26.11.08): http://cgi.ebay.it/Auto-Ricambi-e-Ac...1%7C240%3A1309 Price 50,000 Euros. OK if it doesn't prove to be stolen.....
Thank you Etienne. Yes ,it was a two days work, to brush with my hands, no tool to preserve metal ! Bryan and the other, what do you think about this ,is sufficient or can I paint this cylinder heads ? I do not believe it ! QUOTE 246 TASMAN Perhaps it's this box (see the thread for 26.11.08): http://cgi.ebay.it/Auto-Ricambi-e-Ac...1%7C240%3A1309 Price 50,000 Euros. OK if it doesn't prove to be stolen..... Today 10:04 AM I have already contact it at Cremona ITALIA, but I don't know if it is the correct gearbox for my 083S engine and the price seems to me "surrealist" ,crazy price ? Effectively it is not prove that this gearbox is stolen but it is not prove also that it was not stolen ??? What is the internal number ?? In every case the price it is too much hight for me .
I don't know about your engine but in 1947 my 159/166 engine was not painted. It was as in the photo I posted lightly wiped with oil.
Please !!!don't paint them. They will never look better that they are right now. Thanks for the pics. Keep them coming. Better than oil a light coat of WD40 is all you need. just one man's opinion tongascrew
quote NAPOLIS WD40 is what we use. Today 10:19 AM Thank you for your advice,of course I don't paint its and we use also in France WD40. I will feel your counsel, many thanks.
