just signed up for Saturday! It should be a fun day.

I just have to decide whether I want to do the touring track session at 1:50pm. Might as well, since hitting the bar before lunch might be a faux pas. I have several recent motorcycle helmets, but the event advert requests an SA helmet (different from SM). It has been a while since I did track time. Sport session requires SA2005 and the touring only an SA2000. Amazon prime has some lids from $130 to infinity, with a Bell full face SA2010 at $286. I might have talked myself into it.

Returning from Sonoma to the peninsula on Saturday could take a while....

If someone is organizing an early morning caravan/carpool from the San Mateo area....please chime in. I can take a passenger myself.

Does anyone know what they inspect for? My car is stock, tires, brakes etc. are all good. Do have a small oil leak. Want to make sure I can give the track a whirl.

loose suspension bits, obvious leaks, worn tires, broken trim/glass. They do not drive the car, so it is mostly visual.

They go over your car like it's a PPI. I strongly urge anyone with a car more than one year old to go to the FSF tech session/drivers meeting on Sunday morning from 8-11 at their San Rafael garage. Get the drivers meeting out of the way and have your car inspected. Then if it fails, you have the whole week to get problems corrected. My car has failed every year, usually for tire tread depth. Tires have to be almost new to pass.

Doubtful. The event is sponsored by FSF and they invest a load of money in it.

They have loaner helmets at their boutique shop, but only for the touring session. Hooked on driving will be checking helmet stickers and wrist bands as you enter the track. No wrist band and no helmet sticker, they will pull you out of line. Losts of wrist bands this weekend. One for VIP access to tent and another for the track after attending the drivers meeting. Bring your helmet to the drivers meeting to get stickered.

If you have a pre-1975 Ferrari, you can get a free VIP pass for Sunday. Same for all of you LaFerrari and Enzo owners. Your free pass day is Saturday. Contact FSF.

Oh, and the VIP tent does have beer and wine. But no drinky and drivey. Have a drink and you are not going back out on the track.

Hmm.... Need to express myself more clearly.
I mean if there's a group drive to the track (not on the track).
I think in years past, there were meeting in Redwood City FoSV to drive to Sonoma together. Not sure.

I understood completely. I suppose a bunch of guys could meet at FSV, but I guarantee you that FSV will not be hosting croissants and coffee as a prelude to a FSF event. I think that you are remembering a drive down to Laguna Seca where FSV sponsored that Challenge Weekend.

Is there an admittance fee to just get in to watch and look at the cars?

Does anyone know if there is a noise restriction concern for those of us who have IPE on our 458's? It would be unfortunate to show up on Friday and then be turned away for the track session.

F,Sat, Sun....if John has my car finished....

Yes, just saw that there could be some sprinkles. If you see me lining up on the grid and the ground is wet, please pull me out of my car through the window and slap me back into consciousness. :D
