Do you have a PDF option pricing spreadsheet for the convertible by chance?
No current modern regular production cars go up. Everything depreciates. Porsche Turbo, 488, Huracan, California, etc etc. These arent money makers.
It will probably take a little hit when the convertibles start being delivered in a few months but nothing drastic. I’d imagine late fall 2019 good spec 720S coupes with 5ish thousand miles will be about $230-250k.
LOL, won't be $230--but I'm sure people wish it would. 2018's right now are riding around $290-$300+ depending upon miles and options. Always some one off unit. You might find a high mileage stripper 2018 for $250-$260'ish. Who knows--that's 10 months aways. What I do know is I'm probably going to have to buy another one new come early summer trade in this one with 4k miles and get another zero mile one. Then wait for LT next year (or whenever). I have 400 miles in one week already Nothing can touch this car and nothing on horizon in 2019 is going to change that for me.
Not going up, no reason to but they are holding decent as the car has built an excellent reputation and really has no match unless you spend a ton more.
Is your car here yet I want to see that Cosmos spider beast! Post up a thread of the Urus with your opinions when it arrives. That is a monster SUV. Once I made the 720 buy, I cancelled my Urus order and stuck with Raptor (must have in TX), but thinking about changing for some SUV flavor (non-RR).
I am being told late March, early April for the 720. I wouldn't get rid of the Raptor, I love those trucks. I have someone doing several 100k+ raptor builds which I will share with you when the time comes.
Yeah, I agree, it's just a beast and perfect DD for me (and for the price it's a steal). Pretty much everyone I know with an exotic in TX has one as their DD (or other). Maybe it's a TX thing, but they sell the hell out of those things down here.
My GM just bought a really nice loaded one, I’ll post some pics Monday. It’s possibly the most comfortable car I’ve ever driven. It laughs at potholes that unsettle luxury cars. I think he paid like $70k for a slight used one with a lot of options.
I have a feeling when the spider is officially out for testing it will perform exactly as the coupe. Mclaren has been tweaking the car as all good manufacturers do, 2019s are better than 2018s, etc. The spider will be epic.
It is supposed to only be 100lbs heavier. I just lost 10lbs so I am part of the way there but doubt I can lose much more. I figure the manual seats are another 30lbs less so I am not too far off. My 18' was pretty solid but I do agree each iteration they should improve.
Trust me I’m just buying time. I never anticipated my business to grow 300% (from about $20mm to $60mm) in the last three years. My biggest driver is the fear of failure hence i liquidated a lot of things just in case i needed the cash to get through the growing pains. Luckily it’s gone very well but not over to till it’s over. Once we settle in to our new size I’ll buy myself toys again.
Jon, been there done that. You will have anxiety no matter what. I don't know how old you are but I will guess in your 40's, figure you have a good 20 years or so to enjoy stuff like this before you settle into something more comfortable like a RR. If you are able to build a $60m business you will always be able to make money. The depreciation on a car is just a rounding error. Most have lost more in the market. Call me, I will talk you into it.
Even better . When you are accustomed to grinding it never goes away, I have tried. I am in my 40s and figured I was done but I got sucked back in and busier now than I was 5 years ago. Point is you will make plenty of money. Be reasonable but enjoy yourself.
Sold my Rolls Royce, Ferrari, house in Paradise Valley and my boat in the last two years. Definitely didn’t need to but I lived through a lean time in my mid 20s and told myself I’d never deal with that feeling or worrying about money again. I’ll be spoiling myself in something though later this year for sure.
