Black/Tan Mondial Cabriolet in Oakbrook Terrace at Redstone Restaraunt this Evening. I don't care what anyone else says about those cars. I like 'em. And,the perfect car if you want to have a Ferrari, but have a small Family, too.

4 Seater...even though you have to be a small kid to comfortably utilize the back seat. I think they look sharp, especially in Black. A Super alternative to a Chrysler Sebring Convertible. Thats for sure.

The Sebring Mondial is better hands down. The Mondial is hated on by most because its not the typical Ferrari the design the performance etc isnt up to par with "testerossa" for them. But they are obviously clueless.

They are also alot more roomy and comfortable for Bigger,or Taller People to drive. I road tested a Mondial Coupe many years ago. I wasn't interested in buying it at all... I had my heart set on a 308..:)

But,it was very roomy in the Drivers seat. A Very comfortable car to drive,in my opinion. To me it was, anyway. I liked it. And,as a Convertible,it's like nothing else out there. Sporty, yet Classy.

Not trying to degrade those who own them now, but I always thought the Mondial looked and sounded like the ultimate Fiat or Alfa. Yes it's a Ferrari but it seems to lack the curves needed to be something really special. On the Mondial8t, (that last version?) that square rear intake looked awful and too Japanese compared to the larger, early 80s version. There was one at Mike E's Park Ridge party that was really sharp. The owner really took care of it and the old star wheels, side grill, leather made it look good. On the other hand, I saw an unbelievably beat up one flying down Lake-Cook road near Northbrook this summer. The fabric on the roof was all torn up and flapping on the side of the car, the pipes were loose and rusty on the back, and it looked like it had not been washed in years. Seriously, years. It was dipping in and out of traffic, riding people's tails, and despite the driver acting like he was Montoya, he didn't even go anywhere. He would speed into a lane right behind a semi with some bold 3 lane lane change or ride the tail of a Suburban with Hoffman Estates Youth Soccer sitckers plastered all over the windows. Based on price, performance, and this guy, I don't hold them with high spirits.

Saw a black 3x8 at Bahama Breeze in Schaumburg last Saturday. This was around 4pm. I was in the 575 and a buddy cruising behind was in a red Lotus Esprit.

Yeah, but ANY car that has been neglected,or in crappy condition is like that,IMO. Regardless of Make,Style,Year,etc...

There was a thread going last year about some Rapper "Chroming" an F50...Now,THAT would look like sh*t to me...But,apparently,not to him...and it's his car,so,I got nothing else to say about it...:)

No,I stand firm on my Liking of Mondial Cabriolets. But,later versions. I don't like that big,Black "Wrap Around Bumper/Cladding" on the earlier Model Years,(Unless the Car is Black, then you don't even notice)

I think that, for a '4 Seater',they look Classy, yet Sporty. Subtle,Clean lines...Yet,with just enough "Panache" so that people KNOW it's a Ferrari. No,not really "Exotic" but, look at anything else in it's class.(Don't compare it to a 575,or anything). What else is there? As I mentioned. Chrysler Sebring...Too Many already out there. Toyota Solara? Yeah, nice, but,Not a FERRRARI...:) AND...Ferrari doesn't make Mini-Vans...:) Nothing else, really.

So,if you have a small Family, but, want to have a Ferrari. To me,that is definitely the way to go.

I saw a silver Ford Probe on Lake-Cook heading east on Monday, and possibly the same silver Ford Probe on 294 heading south today around 3pm. Oh wait a second, that was a silver Bentley GT.

Saw two Silver Spurs in Lake Forest today. Don't know the owner not that many on Fchat would care. As soon as I start spotting some more Fcars, I will report. But still, a Roller and Bentley are classy rides.

I've seen a lot of Bentleys lately, just driving around town. Their popularity has really gone up in recent years.

I've seen several Ferrari's and other Exotic Cars at that Restaraunt. Some nice, very expensive Custom Bikes, too. (Weekend Warrior Yuppie "bikers"-and I use that 'Biker' term loosely...:) ) Gotta get in there and get an Atkins Steak...:)

(LOL..Speaking of Bikers....You'll get a Kick out of this...:) Andreas, didn't you say once that Karen thought that Bill and I looked like we'd be more comfortable on a Harley....:) Here's me and my "Posse" from a few years back (1990) ....Unfortunately,the guy on the right is no longer among us...:(....) We were going to promote the First Identical Twin Wrestling Tag Team..(Grant,on the Left. And,his Twin Brother Lee,or Leroy,on the right...) Until Leroy had to go and Die on us....:(

Rocketboy...what were you saying about Mob Hitman...:)

Its an evolution. You went from biker gang thug with the monicker "Knuckles" to the slicked back, well suited and groomed mobster "Shooter." That is an awesome picture. Im sure Frankie Jr's buddies probably feel more comfortable with your current appearance than the biker image however. You still got your leathers? I have yet to see a biker clad driver hop out of a Ferrari.

I had a great spotters moment that everyone would get a chuckle of, not just Frank...

I was slightly bored Sunday afternoon as the girlfriend was involved with some house shopping details and the buds were fixing up there homes. I took my puppy of all people for a spin in the Ferrari. On my way home I saw a red 355 spyder heading south on Roselle but am not sure if its the same guy I've seen zipping around Barrington. At the next light, I was waiting between a few minivans and a bunch of little soccer girls in the one to my right bellowed, " aww, Mommy look at the puppy in that car! " Their brother, not older than 11, looked to my car as well and didn't say anything about my dog but bellowed, " Whoa, a F**kin Ferrari! " Mom wasn't too happy, looked over and said, " Now don't use that language... hey, it is a Ferrari! " It was the highlight of the ride. Doggy liked the attention but I doubt the chunky shifts of an F1 tranny.

LOL! Yes,after becoming a Dad,and started up a legitimate Business,I "Evolved" a little more...:) But,those 2 guys were going to help me,um,"Interview" Potential Suitors for my Daughter once she became of Dating age. We were gonna sit the Young Man down on a stool,Lights shining at him. And,we were going to surround him and ask some questions...while we cleaned our Guns...:)

Saw a brand new 2005,C6 Corvette this morning on Meyers Road in Lombard. Kind of a Dark Red color...certainly not Bright Red. It was across from me at a Stop light. At first, because of the headlights, which are now open,I thought it was a new NSX. But,I didn't see any side scoops. Then,I realized it was a new 'Vette. It looked pretty good.

Red 550 or 575 Maranello (I only saw it from the side, from 5 or 6 cars back)headed Westbound on Roosevelt Rd.,(RT.38),crossing Westmore Av. in Lombard at 5:30 PM today. It also had S/F Shields on it.

Yep - that was me and my 550 on Roosevelt Road yesterday. I may have mentioned that my office is next to the Oak Brook Mall and I live in Glen Ellyn. My 3 boys and their friends all love the car, and it dure does make me happy that the "x" doesn't!!!

Well,it was great to "see" you! I was in the Southbound,Left Turn lane on Westmore Av.,in my Red 308,to go East on Roosevelt Rd. About 5 cars back, and saw you pass by. I just picked up my Daughter from a Volleyball game after school.

Hey,You have to join us for a Drive or something. Would like to meet you and check out your car. It sure would be nice to have a 550 coming along. Rocketboy brings a Red 575 once in awhile, too.

We are trying to organize a Drive for this Month,so,keep posted here on FChat for details....

BTW...LOL! about your "Ex" not liking your Ferrari.....I am in that same situation. When I was married to her,I had 3 Corvettes. And,she'd B*tch and moan that our house looked like a "HillBilly House" with all of the cars. But,I would say,"No it doesn't. They're Corvettes, not rusty old Pick-Up trucks". She had absolutely ZERO interest in those cars...until we got Divorced. Then, all of a sudden, she got Really interested in them. I had to sell 2 of them, and was barely able to keep the last one,(a 1995 LT1 Coupe, which ended up getting hit in the front by a little old Lady in a Giant Mercury Grand Marquis...and totalled.:( )

And,there were a couple other occassions, when I was still married to her that I almost bought a Ferrari. Good thing I didn't,as,I know that I would have lost that car, too.

So,when I got this one,and a another 'Vette,AND there was absolutely Nothing that she could do about it. I finally got my "revenge" for having to sell the 2 other 'Vettes. You should've seen the look on her face when she came over, and my Garage door was opened.....Priceless...:):):)

And,believe me. I'm not the kind of guy that likes to Gloat,or anything. Not my style at all. But,after the Wringer that she put me through,I just had to.

You are preaching to the choir.

When I was married, I had a 1996 Targa and then a Twin Turbo - and she thought it was crazy. I sold it in conjunction with the "D" just to make her happy.

Now I am really happy..happy. Lots of female fruit in these parts!

Let me know when you are "out and about" or driving. I travel alot and spend alot of time (fortunately) with my 3 boys. However, I still like to "drive and play".

Hope to see you soon -
