    Hi Joe,

Probably the F40 in the thread you mention is the same as seen here. There shouldn't be too many black F40s in LM look around :)

Concerning the Telaio Maranello thread, Telaio is a private part of FerrariChat which is all about the hobby/passion of VIN-collecting. Because of the sensitive nature of data like this (more sensitive to Europeans than to Americans usually btw), this part of the forum is only accessible for members. Only new members who can and are willing to regularly contribute to the forum are accepted, provided all the other members have no objections. So, it is quite a bit more strict than the rest of FerrariChat, but anyone with a genuine interest in collecting Ferrari s/ns can happily contact me for more info :)

    Ciao,

    Lars T.

    Thank you!

But please note that the 16M is not Grigio Reventon, as there is only one unique car painted in that colour: the 430 Scuderia pictured on the previous page.

The 16M colour was given to me by a Ferrari employee as being "Nero Matte", although it definitely goes more towards matt grey. Unfortunately I didn't see a colour sticker with this name, so I can't be certain if the name is official.

    Ciao,

    Lars T.

Well, there even is a 575 M in Australia, painted in the Lamborghini colour Arancio Atlas.

I guess that, as long as the client pays, Ferrari will probably paint a car in any colour that the client wants.

    Ciao,

    Lars T.

Well, the 16M in my last pics is definitely Grigio Alloy, as it is much lighter than both Avio and California. But to be honest, all the shades of blue confuse me a bit: Avio and California seem to be quite similar for example, as are the several shades of darker blue like NART, TdF, Mirabeau and such. And since you can - at a premium - also order all the older colours such as Le Mans, Swaters and such - it gets even more difficult! I am certain though, that TdF is darker than NART and also darker than Mirabeau.

    Ciao,

    Lars T.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. I think my eyes glazed over after seeing one beauty after another. :)

Just visiting the thread after two days of heavy workload...

In post 96, I think that the Californias are in Tour de France and NART. The later colour has changed slightly again to become more grey than older variations, a fact that is more evident when one views the cars in production. This brings the overall impression closer to Mirabeau in my eyes.

Interesting to see a two-tone California too. We have one in Greece (Vinaccia/Avorio) that I haven't seen yet, possibly with a similar bordeaux/avorio trim split like in post 111. In my eyes, the combination looks too busy. Btw, I am told that Ferrari are treating the two-tone Californias in a different "logistical" way to the other cars, namely the roof comes from the supplier prepainted in the different colour and is installed at the factory as a full assembly. Someone must of course have the job of painting the roof panels somewhere....

On the Reventon colour; I seem to remember physically seeing one of the cars in Lars's photos and the comment made that the colour is similar but for technical (read Lamborghini has patented it...) reasons the approach to painting is different.

Also, thanks for all the comments received on the 612; still in finishing for a couple more days, I am told...

    Hi John,

Very interesting to hear about the vinaccia-avorio California in Greece!

Concerning the painting of the roof, might it be done at Zanasi perhaps?

    Ciao,

The 16M is gorgeous. Grigio Titanio is a pretty rare colour on the Scuderia/16M - I have only ever seen one Scud and two Spider's (including this one) finished in Titanio. It is, IMO, one of the most understated and beautiful colors for the Scuderia.

Lars, I forgot to mention that Zanasi are responsible for the Grigio Reventon Scuderia (though I'm sure you already know this!) and it can be seen on their official site.

Lars, I believe that they are, although Ferrari treat the roof assembly as exactly that, ie it comes to Maranello pre-assembled.

I've asked for an accurate answer on the methodology that is followed; more after the weekend.

Very nice shots Lars, where are the pics you took while we met there? (during RM auction, the dutch group).

I'll upload mine later in this topic if that's okay with you.

    Hi Peter,

They were posted in the California section shortly after the auction (because I spotted mainly Californias back then).

Since my thread has a specific date on the factory spots (September 2009), I think it would be better to post a seperate thread with pics from your own visit, so as not to mix things up.

    Ciao,

    Lars T.

If I´m informed correctly, Zanasi does all the special colours for Ferrari, right?
Although during my factory tour, the guide said the special colours are done at the end of the day in Ferrari´s own factory paint shop. So, which is correct?

    Ciao,

    Lars T.

Zanasi does all the special colors.

I visited the Zanasi facilities a few months ago and there were some very interesting sights...

Sweet pictures. My white Cali is on the way and it is spec'd out like the one in your shot. I doubt that is the one, but it gives me an idea of what it will look like. Thanks again.

I just noticed on the passenger side door that the interior trim looks like it is iroko or chocolate. It is a stretch but it looks like it. I ordered iroko, so this maybe the one. Can you remember what color the interior was?

Lars. Thank you for the awesome pictures.

It seems interesting to me that there are still more 16Ms rolling out of the factory daily. Surely they are making more than 499 of them...

No, production of all 430s had already stopped during my visit - these must have been the very last cars that still had to be road tested.

That Scuderia with the c/f sills look so nice. Don't remember seeing a regular SCUD done that way before, just the 16m.
