What? Nothing to say? Since when? You certainly had plenty to say a couple posts ago, Skip. You always do...... Once again....leave it to Lil Rocketboy to make a freakin' Mountain out of a molehill....A VERY simple post...Once again. Disected, twisted around, morphed, and made into something that it was not. geez! When are you going to learn, man?
saw a flying spur when turning into the sheraton downtown this afternoon around 5:30, gave the guy a thumbs up and he gave me one back, and when leaving i saw an aston martin vanquish going east on lower wacker around 10:15
Today, at LFSC, side by side, facing opposite of one another. Both were red and looked virtually identical to one another. Then drove into town with my family and saw assorted 911s, two 355s, a 360 Spider in front of the Nissan dealership on Ontario, a Bentley GT on Clark, and a cool red Viper GT parked in front of the Four Seasons. Spotted an 05 Yellow ZO6. They look good on the road.
I guess the limo builders of the world won't rest until they've stretched out every car possible. Yesterday I saw a super-stretch Cayenne in the city. Almost as beautiful as the original. Ahem.
silver lambo murcie spotted on I-55 N and I-355 entrance ramp on 4/8/06 @ 8:10 pm-sharp looking car/color!!
I saw a friggin T-rex in Beloit,Wi wednesday night....what the hell!!! Even the girl I was with said, "cool what is that" http://www.go-t-rex.com/
Reminds me of the Horlacher Egg one of my friends had. Here some shots from our joy ride back in 1983 in Switzerland. It felt like being in a fighter jet at zero meters AAG! No wonder my friend loved it, he flew 747s to Canada for a living. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
About 1:30 this afternoon, saw a silver Lambo G going south in WI 120 out of Lake Geneva. It was MOVIN'!.
Saturday...... Red Ferrari 550 on Diversey St. Blue 360 Spyder on N. Clark St. Both within 10 minutes of one another........
f355 and a rollys royce at oakbrook mall on 4/9 and then 2 bmw m5's one at wrigley and one going to the game! wooohooo they won!
I just get a kick out of the fact that "Lil Rocketboy" can't seem to make a post without somehow making reference to one of his service appointments at LFSC, regardless of the topic
You can always just ask me about my Ferrari thought in a PM Mike, I don't mind. To be honest I probably do it because the claim was that when the 360, 575 came out, those were considered bulletproof engines. When I got my Maranello it was already two years into production and I was sent just as many recall notices on the car than flyers from the FCA. Lee at the dealer just shook his head and commented how many the mechanics are flown out to FNA for sessions related to the new cars' problems and that was his only response. This definitely differed from what the sales section would state. So I spent more time hearing excuses and meeting the people in the shop, to whom were class acts and I would consider friends away from just car topics. I never went to a dealer to snoop, ask for pics, shop, it always seemed to be for maintence on a bulletproof engine. My frist Ferrari experience was being told that the check engine light would not go off even after 4 cycles because the gas cap had a problem sealing. Isn't that strange and a weird thing for a first time Ferrari guy to get a concept of? So the only time I saw multiple Ferraris was when I was being offered a complimentary Coke by Drexel. Most my dealer activities, well all of them are due to maintence, not dreams or being a fan. When I see other threads mention tech sessions on older cars I am not surprised. But when even the dealers claim the new generation would not suffer the same constant care yet there I am talking to LFSC lead mech Joe, I am still kind of surprised. My memories of Ferrari ownership are limited to fun drives up to get repairs or quick trips out to eat. Once you get your Ferrari, and I hope you do and depending on the type, you'll might get a kick out of where you spend most of your time driving and talking to as well. Last time I talked to a newer generation Ferrari owner it was to compare pricing on oil changes, not where I can see a Mondial. Only few people in our section are in, or were in the same situation as I so I should be more careful in my posts/questions/comments addressing to people who probably will never own one or whose cars are just not in the same type. I realized this by angering someone I care about in Frank, so its up to me to make amends by only focusing my comments on people in the same shoes. Take care my friend, good luck with your jumps as the weather improves. RocketBoy
Honestly, and this is not intended as a "ferraris suck" type of comment, as I do have respect for many of them, I personally doubt I'll ever own a Ferrari, unless by chance I'm at some point in a financial situation which allows me to buy something along the lines of an FXX, F40 LM, etc. I'm currently looking to replace my Elise with either a Radical or an Atom, depending on how I feel at the end of this track season. I get a kick out of where I spend my time driving now, by the way... at track days, surrounded by other enthusiasts who drive their Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Lotuses, Porsches, etc... as intended, and are down to earth people who I share a common interest with. However, I really have no idea what most of your 3 paragraph rant had to do with the post you were responding to, and I didn't even bother reading all of it as a result. This one really made me wonder "What the f**k is this guy talking about?", by the way. As for the jumping... made 16 jumps over the weekend. Thanks for the well wishes.
You know summer is just around the corner when Tony's red 360 Spider shows up at North avenue beach. Today 5pm.
Hmmmm.....Speaking of "Custom cars" ....Maybe I'll have to send my Car oversea's to "Rinspeed" and let them "customize" it.... Andreas, have you ever been there?
I have indeed. Rinderknecht had his tuning shop in Zurich, right across the river from the main train station. I have oogled through those windows many times. He had some horrible stuff ("racecars" on VW bug basis) and some really nifty designs. Lots of add-on wings and spoilers for everything from Germany and Italy. Basically he ruined my taste for good. Below are a couple of pics I took in the late seventies at the Autosalon in Geneva. Not sure whether they were from the Rinspeed stand or not. The tuning parts came from a German manufacturer, but Rinspeed would integrate those into his 'creations'. Look at these shots and realize that I was a very impressable young kid at that time. That's where it all began. Switzerland had some other bad boys: Monteverdi in Basel (he built the "Swiss Ferrari") and Sbarro in the French part of Switzerland. He came up with the hubless wheel for cars and bikes. Bizarre looking. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Today.. Going West on Willow rd.. soon after crossing 294. near the corner of Willow and Sanders. Dark Silver Murcielago Roadster. Top off, windows up. Extremely BADASS.
Tony is going to blow the engine in that car, if he doesn't get it back to Ed! Bad knock sensor and some other things. Ed loaned him a scanner so he could start the car (since Tony insisted he had to drive the car, even though it wasn't repaired); he has to delete fault codes to do so. At this point, Ed is out the scanner, and the 360 is running on borrowed time.
Does anyone know why it's named the XK 120? Billiam, you're excluded from this contest!!!!! Winner gets a 'Slider' on me......no fries, no substitutes! $0.41 is the max I'll pay.
