Saw a Panamera this afternoon in the Loop. And even with more sightings it doesn't grow on me. If it wasn't for the badge everybody would discard this as some bloated KIA design from 5 years ago. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Drove one over the weekend in LA during Oscars. Very, very comfy, excellent dynamics and performance, great interior. As long as you don't have to step out of the car and look at it from the outside it's a fine looking automobile.....
Spotted yesterday and today in two different locations. I believe it's a DB9 drophead, driven by a blond girl; nice looking. Plate says 'TWO SEXY"; probably couldn't get 'Too Sexy'. Never saw it/her before but now twice in 2 days...........
lol And I hated the Panamera in pics but I kind've liked it at the autoshow. The front is almost like a Carrera GT and the back isn't so bad in real life. Guess I'm alone in this thinking.
Come on my King, like the GT? Only in name my friend. I respect its performance figures, but it looks just plain ugly. I agree with Andreas, bloated doesn't even come close to describing it... you'll get some spots from my neck of the woods (WI border) soon. Despite replies stating the cars are in sunny Florida, they keep asking for emisions testing on some cars. I've gotten into old guy status cause when the techs comment about the Ferrari, I always talk to them about Airteam and blue license plates.
That's hilarious! I bumped into a Cayenne today and thought that was a fugly POS (then again I feel like that about all SUVs). Then I remembered the Panamera from yesterday and realized that the guy who used to screw up the Beemers tail ends in recent years apparently now is working for Porsche where he is in charge of the overall design.
Oh don't get me wrong. I still wouldn't buy it. But I don't think it's the ugliest car ever. There are many many cars that look far uglier currently for sale.
When Porsche introduced the 914, their image was smeared. When they produced the Cayenne, their image was reduced to just another 'Soccer Mom' SUV. Now, with the Panamera, they've become just another maker of the traditional 4 door family sedan. Porsche has become nothing special, perhaps it never was!
That's not true at all. They still make amazing sports cars. I don't think you can buy better all-around asports cars in their price range. The cayenne was a huge sales success for Porsche. And this allowed them to further develop their sports cars. If the Panamera does the same then I'll be happy.
Actually Porsche has more problems right now. They said they won't meet EPA mpg figure of 41 mpg by 2016. And they were too late on their merger with VW to be able to average in with the VW fleet. So unless they come up with something fast, they will have to find a different way to import their cars after 2016.
Perhaps I was a bit off-base saying "perhaps it never was!" But still..........oh,never mind. Never liked Porches and probably never will! Aesthetically, their style has always seemed mundane to me!
Maybe so, but its introduction angered purists because it was a 'cheap' Porsche. And its design, to the eye, was a POS!
That's good. If everyone liked the same cars and drove the same cars, the car world would be extremely boring.
Dan I didn't get a good look at the exaust. Burtoni makes an exaust with 4 pipes stacked in the center I think?
