appears to me new data hasn't been updated in 5'ish years? anyone on FerrariChat involved with barchetta.cc? are there any equivalent public registry info for Ferraris?
AFAIK our member Bjoern Schmidt is involved and also Harald `Mergard although the latter is no member (or he might have a nice alias). The website is quite some time not (fully) updated but I saw some recent ones so it is still alive. ciao Oscar
You have a link to the updated pages on barchetta on this page: http://www.barchetta.cc/Query/Default.htm There are regular updates
Hi Rob et al, you can reach me under [email protected] if you like. We are still maintaining barchetta.cc but we are doing all this just for fun, so progress is limited to our spare time. Best regards Bjoern
Just a small suggestion that might make updating some aspects of the site easier - it wouldn't be too difficult to have someone (not me!) write a script that crawls for S/Ns listed for sale with auctions and then format that into new entries on Barchetta.cc.
Ferrarichat members often point out errors in barchetta.cc but I remember when I discovered the site when it was still hosted by Emanuele Pirro in late 90s. What a stuff !!! Still my favourite website !
While some have acknowledged limitations and inaccuracies of barchetta.cc vehicle registries, I think it’s still a reasonably good starting point to casually obtain some basics when researching individual VIN’s. I, for one, raise my hat to any-/everyone who is/are willing to dedicate time and efforts to maintain such databases, regardless of their limitations, and more so, if they are able/willing to share it openly.
Agree 100%. It is very important to have a sources that are both public and free of charge, more important than most people realize. I try to live like I preach and therefore prefer sharing what I know on Ferrarichat & Barchetta rather than in some secret handshake societies or private email exchanges.
Image Unavailable, Please Login Sorry there are some Chinese in my screenshot due to my system language but it isn’t relevant, just to want to show they are still maintaining! You can see the 2022 Cavallino UAE’ info on the 250 GT/L 5477GT, also, I remember some cars which went to 2023 Cavallino Classic have also been upgraded but the date seems to be wrong, I remember I saw a June, 2023 but didn’t remember which car it is, I didn’t foresee that somebody would ask this question today For the Barchetta.cc I think it is a bridge for some new Ferrari lovers to get into it, since not all people had the experience with lots of Ferraris (when I was in China mainland, there is only a F40 in Fujian, owned by a Chinese business but achieved success in Malaysia) or could collect enough correct data. It is easy for somebody to check one car or ten cars for a week, but barchetta.cc now has thousands cars! So big respect to them, especially I believe they don’t have a lot of historians or programmers in a specific company.
Hey Bjoern et al, thank you for maintainig Barchetta.cc. It is such a great place to start researching the cars. Keep it rolling!
I have found barchetta.cc to be very cooperative when I have pointed out corrections that should be made. I suspect updates and such would happen more frequently if information was provided to the site.
Back to the premise of this thread. I seem to get random emails saying this website will disappear forever, or not. The pitch involves money. So what is the status?
don´t want to open a new thread is there a list with all the "shorts" as sample: which book is FP? thank you Image Unavailable, Please Login
