So about three weeks ago I park the car after a drive, no issues at all. Put the car immediately back on the battery tender and a few days later notice the battery isn't fully charging. Start the car mid week and no issues at all. Didn't think too much of it, get into the car last week and AVH failure, EPB failure and the EPB will not release and the car is in park.

We have a really fantastic dealer here, they come out to have a look and then returned with the laptop and tried to do an electronic release, no go, will not release. Eventually independently powered (an extremely difficult procedure with the wheels on) the "motors" which operate the EPB and released it that way and drove the car to the dealership.

Apparently this isn't a problem which is very common so all the data has been sent to Factory.

Anyone had anything like this? Apparently the Speciale has a very different EPB arrangement to the regular 458 wherein the car learns the position of the EPB but if the voltage drops the system needs to relearn itself.
