Stupid stupid Mistake

Thanks for the reference! I might have to try this, but I’m reluctant. Has anyone uses the 12v cigarette lighter charger to give the car enough power to open the trunk?

 

I finally got a new 12v port assembly (mine had been deleted some time ago, probably from someone who had just given up smoking). The 12v charger doesn’t appear to work unless the car is on. I tried getting power to the positive cable where it attaches to the fuse box under the dash on the driver’s side, and that gave me enough power to roll the window down a little and open the fuel filler door, but the trunk is totally unresponsive. No noise, no action. The fuse was good. Any other ideas? Missing lots of great driving weather!

 

After you get power to the fuse box, you need to lock and unlock the doors with the key button before the trunk responds (at least this is how it works on the Maserati's)

Obviously, do this with you sitting INSIDE the car... Or roll down the windows first

 

It worked! The other thing that I learned is that the door needs to be closed. I tried and tried, almost gave up, and then as a last ditch effort, tried closing the door and voila! Thanks for the help!
