    I've been thinking about a BMW R1250RS (did I mention I love sport tourers?), but I started looking at the Suzuki GSX-S1000GT, and I'm really becoming intrigued. Looks good, great reviews, and cheap!

    Given that it has a 12 month warranty, I'm wondering how well it will hold up over time. Lots of plastic, etc, but then the BMWs have their fair share of plastic as well.

    Any thoughts?

    I went to look at one, and it was sold that morning. This dealer said they were unlikely to get another one this year.

    I did get to see it, but not sit on it. It does have the dorkiest electronic dash I've ever seen, but I guess that is part of the deal for why it's so cheap.

    There is no question the Japanese build some good stuff but their product support kind of goes away quickly and parts get stupid expensive. Especially the plastic body parts.

    They seem to have invented planned obsolescence.

    Yes, the 1 year warranty is sort of a clue. I've always heard people treat these bikes as disposable, which is not really how I do things.
