Since Cort didn't answer my question about the color, do you guys think that's Bianco Avus ?
Carbon Floors, kinda of cool, yes I gad them clear film coated. Interior Atalier, white paint on air vents and F1 stalk and Steering wheel Fitting 10mm spacers, also lowered the car about 15mm on stock perches. Looks great. Those small Atelier touches make all the difference. Have you got the suspension lifter system fitted?
Beautiful spec Enjoy in good health Which clear bra did you choose? Did you notice if the complexity of the triple white was compromised in any way by the clear bra? I'm planning on BF for my next build but I like the idea of wrapping. Curious if there is a noticeable difference in appearance pre- vs post-wrap. Best
My thoughts as well but only hinging on the forecast of LDM with the F12 going out with the ultimate expression of the series. Since F12B is carried on for years in the F12M, it makes it plausible and perhaps even likely. But, as Traveller points out, could be that the last bang is different - perhaps the bigger block V12 (6.5L) hybridized to introduce the next series. Either way I think it logical that an F12M VS should surpass all others in performance or else I don't clearly see the point in doing it. My bet would be that the F12M will look more aggressive but not be what one would describe as 'raw' and an F12M VS would be incrementally extreme in both sheet metal, engine and chassis tune plus at least one new innovation and with, of course, a ridiculously high bar for allocation making the tdf seem easy to get by comparison. Rumors/specs should start in a couple years.
Great to finally have a thread about the TdF driving experience rather than the usual discussion on shades of grey/calipers and carbon fibre bits - bravo to the OP, and congratulations on a fabulous car. Would be interesting to see some thoughts on driving experiences of 599GTO vs F12TdF. Based on some very brief track time with both cars (not mine - so driven with extra caution), TdF feels like a logical progression of the GTO - greater performance, more edgy and a bigger challenge to drive well. I don't see an obvious reason why an F12M VS can't continue the trend and create a V12 family line of track-biased LE cars. Interesting that the 599XX line didin't continue into an F12XX - may be that's a clue about Ferrari's thinking.
Great writeup, spec, pics, thank you. Excellent points by all. Yes Red Sled I am also wondering will we see an XX program for the F12- maybe they will use the F12 M as the basis for that? Maybe thats how they experiment with some form of hybrid in the name of KERS?
Tire lettering best NOT to paint but to glue on for longevity. We made our own as nobody had done Corsa and I didn't want a huge P Zero on my tire. Cheers, Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hmmm. Despite the power differential, my GT3 RS is just plain sick on the track, even compared to the F12. Maybe with the manual in the R, you're right about it being better for carving up windy roads. But for me the combo of the GT3RS incredible grip, 4WS and that amazing DCT allows it to punch well above its weight - shockingly so.
Overall grip and balance of 991 gt3rs is amazing, a phenomenal value for the price. The problem I found is that the RS, albeit a stellar handling car, has just a blah motor... I mean I just think it's overwhelmed by all the grip and aero so it really never feels that fast, not to mention the noise it makes, argh . I think I was a bit tainted as I was coming from a 991 gt3 and to me this is by far a better street car with a jewel of a motor, the 4 litre in the RS just doesn't do it for me. Then of course you go and absolutely reset all the references you ever had by driving the TDF and your tainted forever as far as street cars go...it's just bananas and the secondary market prices of a million plus tell you exactly how special the car is....last of the breed.
Have driven the R just a couple of hundred Ks since delivery. Apart from the obvious differences between TDF and R (engine-size and location, transmission etc), the R is pretty easy to drive around town - would have to be on a track to really get anywhere near its limits. The TDF on the other hand even at moderate speeds, partic in race mode, one needs to be very judicious with the right foot especially with cold tyres and with any moisture on the roads. It really is an aggressive and angry tiger being held back, whereas the R is a well trained and behaved German Shepherd but when given the command reveals its real potential. Love them both!
I took mine out this morning. temps above/below freezing all throughout. Left it in 'wet' and was very gentle. I couldn't help but keep hearing Chris Harris in the back of my head: "you're only millimeters away from a bbiiggg sllliiiddee". It's so twitchy and unforgiving that it requires focus unlike anything else to drive. In the 25's I was going 20. In the 40's I was going 30-35. And it was still super terrifying. Anyway, I got here to the office now, and I'm just starting to calm down. And now I'm telling myself: "Another drive near the brink of death... Hooray, I made it out alive!" No other car is anywhere near as exhilarating and terrifying. How about maybe X2 at magic mountain?
Interesting. Looks like the TdF will be even more challenging away from the track where it is easier to build and retain heat in the tyres.
Many inquiries: Yes, letter is glued on, permanent adhesive, no issues with coming off. Tirestickers.com is the place that created our special request. I have used them for other projects, they do great work. R Strada, my shop in Torrance, Arling Wang the owner did is magic to make this size and graphics request for Corsa. Cheers,
