    I've been searching the old threads trying to figure it out. I understand that there are hp, suspension, etc... differences, but are they just newer and therefore more evolved versions of the same car??

    The Testarossa was the first. Next was the 512tr, followed by the final incarnation, the F512m. The latter two were indeed newer, more evolved versions of the same car.
    'tr' is shorthand for any of those 3 models. I hope this helps.
