    Just wanted thank the folks on this board for helping me out. My '86 Mondial was experiencing periodic starting problems, even though electronics worked fine. I am by no means an experienced mechanic, but after reading some posts about how the car needs a lot of amps to start, I replaced the battery terminals and cleaned all connections. Problem solved, and for weeks now I have enjoyed the pleasure of driving this car everywhere without fear.

    Congratulations! This is EXACTLY why i became a paying member of Fchat. A very small price to pay for vast amounts of knowledge and help (and MUCH cheaper than taking it to a mechanic!).
