Hi guys, sorry im late to the party. Was watching some miners gettin saved ;)

Dr. S didnt moderate anything. It was simple editing of a "quote" which anyone can do.

In addition I will delete Dr.S edited comments as we dont need to mke things worse.

Hi Ian, let's not make this worse. I do believe Errol was showing his support but we need to do it minus the commercial content. Period. I know it can be done. *hint* There are youtube links.

As for ZR, I have been more than fair for years. I have let alot of ZR related stuff pass through after his sponsorship expired. And no one is questionning ZR's rep at the mommet.

I think the only thing that will make this better is a public apology from your moderator, Dr. S.

A lot of us know Errol and have taken this as a personal strike at him from DrS.

I think this is really getting political and should simply end with an apology from DrS.

He was attacking Errol personally and there was no need for that.

    Vasco,

If I didn't know better I would say you were poking a little bit of fun at me....

My point is, and then I will retire, that it is clear that you edited my post.

And it is clear that Dr. S edited Errol's post.

That wasn't very nice and he should say sorry.

    Amen

I have no horse in this race, and you may think this is semantics, but it is a critical distinction - Vasco did not edit your post - he quoted your post, and edited the quoted text. Your post remained intact exactly as you wrote it, for all to see in it's original version.

Since it is possible for moderators to edit a user's post, and doing so in this scenario would have been a violation of moderator privilege, it is important to note that it doesn't appear that this happened.

I also know none of the 'players' in this soap opera and did not see the offending post; but from where I sit, it would have been so much more professional and mature if the original moderator simply removed the offending post rather than the immature modification of another user's post via the changing of it in a quote. None of this nonsense would have developed to where it's at now.

This is not a democracy where users have control over moderators, it is a privately owned business with appointed referees (one of which I am not BTW) who answer only to the owner, not the members, and especially those with few posts who don't even have $15 to subscribe and show their support, yet act like the own the place.........secondly, commercial SPAM posted here has been modified many a time by moderators, however, in this case, it was not.

Dr.S nor the mod's have nothing to apologize for.....commercial SPAMMING is not allowed. What part of that do some of you not understand ? Please let Rob Lay know as it is his board and these are his rules.

The offender got off lightly, as he knew full well what he was doing and for whom, as have the others here who constantly and subversively have been spamming the CANADA section for some time on behalf of 2-3 particular parties. So as you can see, it is apparently now going to stop, and was long overdue. Vasco, who is a good friend of mine (even though his country has a crappy football team ;)) has, and still is, doing a great job as a mod trying to walk a fine line, but perhaps it has just become to blatant.

If any of you who support the actions of commercial spammers would like to do so in a different way, rather than defending them here for free, you are welcome to leave Ferrari-Chat to set up your own website, pay for the considerable bandwidth and development costs, and allow the spammers free reign on your own dime after expending considerable hours and funds. Alternatively, there are other similar sites which you may register to and instigate others to spam in the same manner and see what happens.

Dictatorships rarely turn out very well in the long run. Why would I pay money to be a part of it? I'm not disagreeing with the fact that advertising is not welcome unless you pay for that right...but rather the process of a moderator in which it was dealt. As a moderator, one would expect them to be a little more professional, especially when he/she represents the forum and its owner(s).

Last night driving home to Lethbridge I saw a white Ford dually pickup towing a flatbed trailer with a red Lamborghini Countach on it. It was stopped in Nanton at the Esso. It was night, so I didn't have time to stop and confirm whether it was the real thing or not - but it did have the characteristic round-holed wheels.

It later passed me just outside of Lethbridge, and I got a good look at it as they did - and it was the real thing indeed. A 5000S quattrovalvole model. He turned off in Lethbridge and I continued on my merry way. Always a treat to see one of these - too bad it was on a trailer!

Hi Gord, just to clarify...fellow member ClassicGuy knows that I edited his post. In fact it wasnt his his post I edited. It was his quote. And I did this simply to show that ANYONE can do that. Because the issue here was that Dr.S edited his a quote of the original (now banned) user. I hope this explains it.

There is a new RACE THE BASE thread with a proper link so I truly hope that this is now all water under the bridge.

    Best,

I responded to your PM before reading this. But I ask once again, besides banning the original user who signed on with a business name an posted twice with commercial posts (no hello's, no hi no byes no intros no nothing) What in the world did I do???

The 3 pissed off parties I have been dealing with backstage have been more than understanding and have all agreed and moved on. Is there anything here left to discuss? I dont think so.

By the way I have finally viewed the Discovery channel video and must admit it is a job well done once again.

I did not realize Dr. S was not a moderator...he just plays one on forums. I take it all back, mods are doing a good job and ClassicFerrari did the right thing. It's the wannabe mod that initiated this entire thing.

That guy isn't a mod?! Sheesh! Then I can say this without fear of being banned: Man he's an annoying dude. Anybody who takes pride in "owning punks" doesn't possess the maturity of others on these forums.

Guys...really? Are we not done here yet? You can always message Rob if there are any further issues with regards to any particular user and not derail such a fine thread.
