Following the great pictures of the F50 you recently sold, the detailed shots of the tool kit, reminded me to check my spare set. Pleased to say it compares well, all present and correct! I even have the 2 bulbs your missing Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
The 2 bulbs were actually used and are being replaced, the torch light is present as well. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Absolutely beautiful! I recently replaced the batteries in the torch, they can get a bit corroded after all the years, especially over here is damp wet old England. Both the spare and the actual working perfectly. I had to clean all the circuit board up and replace several wires, they had gone brittle over time and could not be reused / soldered. Also i guess the time life of an old Ni-Cd battery is limited - it now recharges perfectly and holds a charge for a long time.
I had to sort my torch too when I purchased my F50. The Ferrari main dealer was useless, I used my electrical contractor. The torch, when in its holder, doubles up as a courtesy light when the doors are opened.
Joe - great detail images. Two questions; - Is the quilted headliner on the hard or soft top? - What is in the black snap pouch positioned next to the passenger seat?
I doubt there are very few actually work as a torch let alone a courtesy light. I have successfully rebuilt 4 of them now, all working as intended - charge in the car, hand held torch function and as courtesy light.
the central pouch is the document holder - manuals, service book etc - although i have never known anyone to keep their documents in there! there is a lateral pouch on the left and right of the seats - they are just 2 little holders - like a substitute for not having a glove box. you can see them listed in this diagram. https://www.eurospares.co.uk/parts/ferrari/f50/interiors/inner-trims-20887 the soft top does not have that quilted finished, its the hard top
in the meantime, if you look at this picture Joe posted, see the 4 small pins at the back of the carbon tray, a properly functioning torch will sit in on top of them. This charges the torch, as well as sends the signal to come on when the doors are opened. The switch on the torch then independently works as an on/off switch if the torch is hand held. The hard top, as Mark says. The F50's ancillaries are cool and should be present & operational, but perhaps even more important is how any particular example operates & drives on the road. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have a complete spare set of original tools for the F40, Enzo, 288GTO and F50 (including torch), along with a complete spare set of 3 piece Enzo luggage, Enzo owners manual & original pouch with torch. Collected over the years after all the originals went missing during a storage move, only to be reunited with them after they miraculously reappeared! Leaving me with duplicates of most things.
Would love it if you could detail everything you have on this thread: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/ferrari-tool-kits-accessories-picture-thread.592535/ I believe you’ve contributed to that thread before. It’s one of my favorites. I tried to send you a PM but your profile doesn’t allow that. Thank you.
I think most of my stuff is up there already. Apart from yourself, I have probably contributed more to that thread than anyone and correct a few errors. I have lots of other tools in storage, but they would only be repeats of what you have up there already, anything new I will add. cheers
