His son and I are friends, he told me the same thing a few others did: It has more curves and is much prettier than the Enzo. Apparently, it sounds better than the Enzo as well. As you're well aware this is all subjective, but it's much better than hearing the alternative .
Thanks! Did they say it looks like a pretty Enzo, meaning it still has some Enzo DNA? Nice to know it sounds better than the Enzo.
If he does, he won't say, he can only say enough not to cause trouble from his sources. But Michael, seems to be spot on.
From the photo I've seen, it shares basic shape, the doors, the windshield, and the engine placement that is where the commonality ends. There are Enzo 'touches' but it moves forward and breaks new ground. My understanding is that it has less in common with the Enzo than the F40 does with the F50. Yes, I do. Just for an idea look at the F12 lap time around Fiorano, the new car is substantially faster than the F12. Thanks Tony. It looks like your friend may get a shot at the new car, they're certainly going to be making enough of them .
Does the interior share the same format like the 458 in terms of dashboard? I expect the successor to be digital rpm tach and all.
Someone mentioned earlier in the thread that from looking at the interior of the tub, it looks as though the seats are stationary; so the pedals and wheel move toward the driver instead of the seat itself? -Gil
They are... as to allow for a lower driver position and overall lower car profile. Luca spoke several years ago that this was a direction Ferrari would go, along with active aero features and reduced weight.
Could it also be to keep weight more centered? It would make more sense to keep the driver positioned instead of moving that weight (the driver) forward? Thanks for the clarification. -Gil
Without the final bodywork, this is not it. This is a test mule. With an ugly body. Your sentence is a bit contradictory, first you say this is it, then you say "throw in a styled body and you have the car". I would agree with the latter statement, but not the first. And for all we know there are changes considered daily to the suspension, to the gear ratios, to the interior, etc. That is why it is called a test mule. There is no styled body on this test mule as of yet, so this is not the final car. Thankfully.
You will buy it, for a base of 1MM euros plus options etc. That was the price as of 2 months ago. I will check with my sources but that is the figure I was given a long time ago and it still stands as of August.
