Hi, I'm trying to find out if my CS is the first one ever made, it is ZFFDT57B000132336 On the Vin registry it appears to be the earliest car VIN: ZFFDT57B000132336 - First Challenge Stradale VIN: ZFFDT57B000132337 - 2nd Challenge Stradale Built (for Jean Todt) PS: this would contradict what is posted here http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/138711447-post102.html But from what I can see, there is no car earlier than mine here: Challenge-Stradale.com Ferrari 360 CS Challenge Stradale Website Can anyone confirm?
The earliest Challenge Stradale is 131569 - it was shown at the Geneva show - Blue Tour de France with nero interior 131996 was also shown at Geneva, Rosso Scuderia, stripe, nero and red interior. Assuming VIN order matches production sequence the details I have are: 132336 is number 6! (Rosso Scuderia, no stripe, Beige leather racing seats and then replaced for Nero Sparco racing seats - ex Ferrari media car) Jean Todt's CS is number 7.
Ahh great, that is useful info. Yes I had the Sparco seats removed and replaced with the original tan ones. Do you have any more info on the car? There was a rumor the first owner after Ferrari was Monaco Royalty, all I can tell from the history is that Monaco Motors sold the car in 2004.
I'm afraid not. I've done a quick web search and there are a few pictures of the RS Geneva car, but as this was the new CS colour looks like everyone concentrated on the red car! Must be some pictures somewhere. I wondered if the show cars were used for the promo video and CS brochure, but the blue car in the brochure and video has beige leather seats and I believe the show car was Nero.
According to Matthias Urban's book, 132336 was a "B" VIN CS, Rosso Scuderia, FER 323, and beige. 132235 was a "B" VIN CS, too, so, like Russell said, yours is early but a long way from first. Ferrari usually produced preproduction models up to a year before regular production began and these were used for tech manuals, shows, and kept by the factory for testing. They were then updated to production specs and sold to the public through Italian dealerships up to 2 years after being assembled.
Thank you both. I really appreciate it. I will make a search but if you didn't find anything Russell, i don't think i will. Michael B if you have any more photos or infos or both of them it would be great to post them here. Best
Well, since the picture clearly shows that the Geneva car has beige leather then it's likely the promo video and brochure are done using the Geneva show cars - plenty of pics! http://youtu.be/PI57X03AtyA http://www.ferraridatabase.com/The_Downloads/The%20Documents/Ferrari%20Brochure%20Challenge%20Stradale%20Geneva%20Motor%20Show%202003.pdf http://www.ferraridatabase.com/The_Downloads/The%20Documents/Sales%20Brochure%20360%20Challenge%20Stradale.pdf
Russell- Direct connections to the ferraridatabase.com individual titles do not work. Have to use the basic url and then whoever wants it just hunts it down.
Taz, works ok on my iPad using Tapatalk, downloads the PDF to view. Perhaps a Tapatalk feature? http://www.ferraridatabase.com/The_Downloads/Brochures_Ferrari.htm
Happy to help. Its a fantastic photo that I am happy to have. Russell has been very helpful with Strad information in the past. After reading some of the above details I knew this photo would be of interest to us all & help clarify the specifications. I am sure you have seen these as well: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
