Tim Stanford for service in Fort Lauderdale. Decades of experience, fair prices and a great attitude. Jack
You are dead on with Patrick Ottis. This kind man has never hesitated to let me consume large amounts of his time on the phone asking absurd mechanical questions with no compenstion other than a thank you. I was so pleased to meet Patrick in person last fall in Montana, and once again he dropped what he was doing to say hello. A stand up guy for sure.

I've bought parts from Tom Shaughnessy, and have been 100% happy. He took the time to show me around his hoard, and gave me a priceless ride - doesn't get any better. His right hand man Zac is pretty cool too. Tom Yang! An inspiration for us all: http://www.tomyang.net/cars/ferrari.html +100 on Pat Ottis and Brian Brown. They both are saintlike in how much free advise they take the time to pass on. Let me put a plug in also for Jerry Bensinger - he is a long time Ferrari guy who I have known since the HMI in the 80s. Which cheeks are you talking about? Cheers, Jon

i read the post and exchange where the guy knocked tom s. for asking a fellow to give him a shot at some part. it seemed out of line to me. it seemed to me that the knocker was jealous, perhaps. but tom s. works day and night tracking down old ferraris and for that he deserves what he snags...like that chassis with the devin body he recently scored. as someone once said, maybe roger penske, the harder you work the luckier you get. tom w
Mike at Superformance UK. www.superformance.co.uk has always been willing not only to sell you a part, but to provide advice, assistance, and leads to other suppliers if it's something he doesn't have. Backs his stuff 100%. Daniel Pass at Ricambi America. ('nuff said on that one.) Tom Shaughnessy. Only bought a couple parts from him, but he's passed boatloads of knowledge to me and others. There are tons of other good guys. As for dealers, Bob Segal at Algar has always been 100% up front and honest with me, and did me a great favor while helping me locate my Dino.
Doug Nye and Nathan (Piloti). Although we sometimes disagree, I think both make an honest effort to present historical truth....
I'll add Steve Ahlgrim of the old FAF and now TRutlands to the list. He has helped a lot of in the Southeast. Drew Altemara

Agreed 100%! Mr. Ottis is a fantastic guy! I had the privilege of meeting him down at Cavallino. He's an extremely knowledgeable man; I can not wait to visit his shop and pick at his brain. Mr. Shaughnessy on the other hand is somewhat of a $%&* disturber. Yeah, he might sell good parts, but has anyone really had to listen to him talk?!? He goes on and on about the most useless crap... But that doesn't take away from the fact he's a good guy too. Both are outstanding citizen of CA...Good Guys for sure!
Thanks Darren for your kind words...Much appreciated but I am rather worried by the inference that the cars I sell all need repainting and retrimming ! paul
I thought you might say that after I wrote it Let me go on record and say every car I have ever seen in your garage has been absolutely tip top. There was a Lusso way back when that some folks might have had retrimmed to show in the unreal world of Cavallino or Pebble. But i loved it just the way it was. Not a perfect interior by any means but each crease had a story to tell. Was a maroon car from Paris if I remember. Wonderful. Cheers Darren.
Unfortunately all the adulations and complements will go unnoticed by Mr. P. Ottis as his technological savvy ended with the slide rule. I guess we could print this thread and put in an envelope with a .39 stamp but beware that the mail carriers will only deliver to the East Bay( i.e. Ghetto) during the daylight hours. As for your comments in regards to Mr. Shaughnessy I suggest you reread the Personal Assistant/employee handbook where it clearly states any and all signs of insubordination will be dealt with in the harshest manor. Any future paid trips to warm climates will be cancelled and redirected to our little known Arctic Circle restoration division. I hear Anchorage is nice this time of year, hope you have a warm coat!!!!!!!!!!!! Zac
Hi darren...The car you refer to was a one owner Lusso 4411 GT. It was my 'Keeper' but like all the good cars over the years a hefty cheque and many bills combined to its sale. It was quite exceptional in its originality. An early Lusso with a trunk ( Boot) floor mounted fuel filler rather than the usual pipe and screw top at the top of the trunk. I sold it to John Mayston Taylor of Lynx. Lovely guy but he totally ruined it in my opinion. Yes it is a Concours condition perfect car now.........Wish he had just bought himself a new car rather than this Lusso and not thrown away all the patina and originality that we all know cannot be recreated. paul.
In the words of the late, great, Otis Redding at the Monterry Pop Festival: I started out asking you to show some love to those whom you have swapped checks; but, this the Internet right? Every idea takes a flight of its own, which is cool, which is good. It that light, I'd like to add: Bob Smith in Texas Dave Olimpi http://www.daveolimpiautomobiles.com/ Gary Bobileff http://www.bobileff.com/ Steve Barney http://www.sportauto.cc/index.html And those of you bashing Tom Shaughnessy don't have a focking clue, not a clue. http://www.vintageferrariparts.com/ Trust me, you are not worthy. Finally, even though we have had our differences, anybody thinking about buying a vintage Ferrari who doesn't subscribe to the Ferrari Market Letter is a fool. Gerald is perhaps the original curmudgeon. He is certainly one of the original dinosaurs. But when it comes to knowing as much of the truth as can be known about a specific old banger, Gerald is definitely the man. I can give some more names, but they would be for newer cars. Dale PS Mr. Barber, we have never met. However, I have spent countless hours drooling over your web page, so please don't stop.
Miss Helms is trying fellows, but as I have previously expressed to my captavating personal assistant , " THE PONIES CAN NOT RUN WITH THE HORSES !!!!! "
