No glass owners allowed on a steel car, please... ;)

Maybe you are right, Bruno: the car had to be ready in July 2015. Now I Just hope it will be ready in April 2016... and the Classiche Certificate won't be ready even in August 2017...

My new electrician did in one month what the old one didn't do in seven: maybe he is not a mega giga ultra extra superspecialist like the old one, but this one works quickly and the result doesn't look bad.

There will be a party when (and if...) that blue thing will be completed: you and Emile are invited (but just if you both come here with some nice, young and naked girls...)

    ciao

Beautiful work but I caution you to be careful about putting that plastic on the car. The paint will need to breathe while it cures for several months and the plastic can leave serious marks or create damage when removed. During re-assembly it is much better to use removable pads that you take off at the end of the day. I use yoga mats because they are thin, flexible, and are just a little sticky so that they do not slide off.

I know you must be thinking that brand new cars have plastic on them so why is this a problem. This is because new cars are painted by robot and cured in specialized ovens that are specifically made for the task. When a car is painted by hand it receives more paint than on an assembly line and takes much longer to cure.

Thanks! They will remove it quickly. The pads maybe are even worse, as with dust they will schratch the paint each time they move a bit. The car was sent to the mechanical shop after the painting but before the final polishing, for exactly that reason. Once completed the re-assembly, it will come back to the body shop for the final polishing, so the plastic protective sheet should be harmless in any case.

    ciao

Fortunately she hates cars and so she doesn't read F-chat! ;)

the last picture attached was taken this morning and shows the new electrician specialist testing the just installed dash and door panels.

Maybe this time we are very close.

    You poor. That's a pity ;)

BTW. What paint is this on the door's inner face??
And I would like to revert to my post no.268 regarding the door switches. Somehow it perished.

    Best

Antirombo (means "paint against sound resonance", it was the standard here in Italy) .

You can see it in the pictures here below in the pictures attached

Sorry, I always forget about it: I will ask to have a picture. They cost just some euro here.

Congratulations, Alberto! You must be a very happy man now.

I understand that you have spent a lot of money, but please don't save at the wrong place now... your fuel level looks very low 😉
Forse ci incontriamo quest'anno in Italia!

    Best wishes, Robert

Martin, in the big mess following the electrician specialist change, I don't even know which door switches were installed on my car: here you are a picture of the left one they installed, taken two days ago, but I don't even know if they installed the new ones or they fixed the old ones.

I still have to take home the old remaining pieces of the car restore end re-assemblying

I don't know: I hope the day I will sell it it will worth the big money spent and the big amount of time I put on that car

I have to say a big "thank you" to Toni Auto S.n.c. in Maranello, that helped me after the first electrician specialist disaster: they took care of the disassembled car (a nightmare puzzle) and "borrowed" me one of their electrician specialists. Together with Marcello, one of the best Toni Auto mechanics, he did a fantastic job and just in a month. The car now works like a clock and doesn't look bad at all.

    Stunning.

And everything seems to have just falled in place those last few days. In the blink of an eye, it was finished. Enjoy it, Alberto...

P.S: your speedo must be wrong, it says "90 km/h"...just looking at that beautiful "pocket rocket", you would think she must be doing 250....

    Ciao

Thank you very much, you both, Markus and Bruno!

The car just look as every vintage Ferrari deserves to look.

As for the speed, Bruno, I did a small trip of 55 km from Toni shop to my village, where the body shop is: met two times a police mobile speed trap... better going slow, here...

During the driving I pushed a bit the engine, but just until 5000-5500 RPM: until that RPM range the engine has a very good sound but no kicks, neither like the early 208 turbo. And the turbo intercooler pushes like a 4,5 liters dry sump 308.

This car has a lot of charme: looks, sounds and feels much more vintage than the two turbo and the 328, It's great looking, but the turbo intercooler and the 328 have a much more powerful engine. And the sound of the turbo is another world

    ciao
