At least they do not join a Mercedes-forum to tell those people about their feelings....same can not be said about the Lewis-fanboys here....
Thanks for proving my point,.However I'd have thought you'd have other things more worthy on your mind other than Lewis Hamilton, he certainly appears to continually preoccupy and intrude on your mind....nothing wrong in that though.
You and your buddies are plain wrong... I do not ****ing care about Lewis but I am annoyed by his fanboys here....big difference I wish we can turn back the time before 2014...he propably was the same driver but NONE of these worshipers was seen here, I wonder why they just found out he can drive a car decently after jumping in the dominant Mercedes. They are either "fair weather fans" or they do not understand enough about racing to see anything but a win and statistics...
They’ll never get the message Pete, they just enjoy disruption. Ignore em, you can’t educate some people mate Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Ok, so with the Japanese GP should this thread be closed? It's really really silly and it makes absolutely no sense. As we watch Hamilton make history week end and week out proving that he's the G.O.AT there's still this thread that makes the community look blind and nonsensical. Someone logging on for their first time would think there is a bunch of lunatics on here. It's that the impression we want to give?
Thread makes entire community look like sore losers. Below the dignity of a top car forum. Close the thread it’s contraire to what is happening on the track. Lewis won 6 of last 8 races, finished second in the other two.
if It bothers you, you don’t have to read it. There are plenty of posters here who I feel embarrassed for when I read their drivel, no one stops their posts. The title is self explanatory, that people who love him come into the thread and try to change opinions is a mystery to me
It's quite possible that Hamilton's Mercedes is the GOAT. An unprecedented period of reliability and outright speed. Congratulations to Mercedes, even if the car is designed and built in Great Britain
The car is without a doubt a contender for greatest car ever, the driver, no way. Good, fast, dumb, entitled, coached, protected - absolutely
See its post like this that make intelligent people question the mentality on this forum. Mental vomit ...
Lets compare the quality of Hamilton's team mates vs Schumacher's Shumi: Brundel= 0 Championships Riccardo Patrese= 0 Championships Jos Verstappen= 0 Championships Johny Herbet= 0 Championships Eddie Irvine= 0 Championships Rubens Barrechello= 0 Championships Ham: Fernando Alonso= 2 time Champion Hekki Kovilinen= 0 Championships Jenson Button = 1 Championship Nico Rosberg = 1 Championship
I agree that’s laughable taken out of context. But the point remains that Ham has had 3 team mates who were worthy of WDCs. Schumacher never even had 1. Having said that, I think it is pointless trying to justify Ham as a GOAT. He is a fast sprinter of a driver. A very fast one and definitely one of the fastest over a single lap of all time. But as a complete racing driver he cannot compare to the GOAT that is Schumacher. Michael was very fast. He was able to excel in all conditions wet or dry. He was a tactical mastermind in the race. He was relentless in testing as often as possible. He built fabulous teams around him that were the best in their fields - technical, strategic, management. He took on the challenge of joining Ferrari at a time when the team were a shambles and managed to turn it into one of the most dominating F1 periods of all time. He was the total driver with just one objective - win at all costs. Ham has never done that and never will. But he’s one of the best of today’s bunch of rather average drivers...
I do not know why this is always held against Schumacher....Lewis is said to be clever choosing the Mercedes at the right time, why can´t be said the same about Schumacher choosing his team mates...And it is not like Lewis opted for them to become their team mates... The first WDC (Alonso) Lewis had no choice, it was take it or leave it. Then he got a useless No.2 (Kovallainen) and achieved his WDC, absloutely no difference to Schumachers No.2s. When Button came he was very much considered as a fluke WDC in the Brawn after not really impressing in the years before and nobody, the least Lewis expected him to be a challenge. It is not like Lewis decided he wanted to race against the best and therefor they took Button. And Rosberg: Nobody at Mercedes ever considered him as a potential No.1 driver or why was Schumacher replaced by Lewis rather than giving Rosberg a No.2? And I am certain nobody at Mercedes thought that he would ever really compete with Lewis, not to mention winning a WDC against him. Having said that Lewis did well against Alonso (obviously) but both the results against Button and Rosberg do not qualify him as a GOAT unless one will put them near the same category (which I doubt one would do very much). So the statement "he raced against 3 WDC" is on of these typical arguments looking great on the paper but do not hold up in a real discussion... As I said before, Schumacher was the ideal driver for this era just as Fangio and Senna where in theirs. All three of them could make the difference. MAYBE Lewis could as well but we do not see that because we are in an era when the car makes much more difference than ever before... Cars always mattered but due to the limited testing I think there is far less of the drivers in the car than ever before. Both Vettels and Lewis´ stats do not really represent their value in comparison to former drivers in the same stats...More races, less variation of the winners, far better reliability. Can one imagine Clarks stats if the Lotus would have been as reliable as the Mercedes of the last 2 years?
Great post. I would say it's more difficult to have a clear GOAT after seeing Lewis performance this year. Ham has also won races in all conditions this year. Schumacher went to a lesser team Ferrari and they became champions. Lewis did the same when he had the courage to go to Mercedes, now they are champions. Hamilton was able to beat another team with a equal car 2017 & so far 18. Hakinnan/Mclaren beat Schumacher, also Alonso/Renault beat Schumacher twice. You say Lewis is faster over a single lap but a race is multiple laps, and he has 70 wins
I don't know if I qualify as a Hamilton fan boy in your eyes, but here it goes. I didn't post until a few years ago, simply because I was in full occupation then and had no time for social media of any kind. I have been following Hamilton since he came to F1 in 2007, and my interest is on several levels. Not only persona, but his rise among the best in the field (already in pre-Mercedes days) ,and his background are of interest to me. I will follow him as long as he races., yet he isn't my favourite driver: Ricciardo is.
Did you identify yourself with "worshipers"? If not, why did you feel the need to justitfy yourself? As said, I have zero problems with people supporting Lewis, I only have a problem with people coming here posting nothing else but "Lewis is the goat" constantly, with zero interest in other things. I still wonder why they joined in the first place... I might not agree with you on a lot of things but believe me neither you nore kraftwerk are "my problem" over here...
+1 It's good to invest in documented actuality of Schumacher's achievements through enjoyment of the many published books. A particularly good read is The Edge Of Greatness by James Allen. It pleasantly cuts through the nonsense often spouted on web forums.
Whoops clearly I have touched a nerve, as you feel the need to use profanity. I believe contrary to your view, and I assume you are getting confused and upset again. The F1 forum is for fans of all marques and drivers to air the opinions, and I for one believe thats a good thing. I have been posting in the F1 section since 2007, and yes I agree I wish we could turn the clock back, because I have seen a great number of knowledgeable contributors disappear, and I can only put that down to the puerile nature of Hamilton bashing, as in this thread is proof of that. Also I notice ATBNM3 Don joined in 2003 so you cant be referring to him, nothing wrong in new supporters of any driver or car posting, if they play by the rules IMO. Obviously Hamilton is the enemy to be beaten, and naturally that makes for some discourse, but it takes two for that, in which you are a very active poster in diminishing Hamiltons achievements, so complaining about Hamilton fans on here is rather ironic, because most of your posts consist of contrary views to them. Hence my statement about a Hamilton obsession. There again I maybe wrong and you actually like reading: Elton did this heeheeheee...Elton said that hahaha.... And Elton sucks heeheeheehahaha or Elton shaved his legs today hoohoohoo. Anyway I have some time to watch the race now....I hope I'll enjoy it I hope you did too
