I hope so- Hes great for the game and especially The Masters. He's been through a lot and handled it like a man and with class versus these other crybaby primadonnas in most sports so would be great if he can play.
Good thread idea Willis. I am going down Tuesday. Been fortunate enough to be at Augusta maybe 5 or 6 times. Would it be high-jacking the thread to ask posters to list their 3 favorites? I bet on 3 guys to win every big tourney. Of course, odds come into play. Will decide on wagers Wednesday. Apparently Tiger walked all 18 in a practice round. Any of you guys been there, you know AN is one of the most difficult walks on the tour, although tees tend to be pretty close to previous greens, as God intended.
Looks like a good chance of showers on Thursday, clearing and windy on Friday, nice but chilly on the weekend.
Freddy says Tiger looks good in practice rounds. https://www.espn.com/golf/story/_/id/33671674/fred-couples-optimistic-tiger-woods-play-masters-their-practice-round-augusta-national
Now it looks like the rain will be gone by Thursday, but it will be windy! Tomorrow's Par-3 will probably be cancelled by weather.
What about Scottie Scheffler, he’s been on a hot streak. Anybody hear that Anthony Kim is trying to make a come back? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Happy my hosts decided not to go y'day. I heard the course was cleared around 11. This meant patron couldn't even hang around one of the most beautiful spots in the world drinking their cheap beer and eating pimento cheese sandwiches. Any of you ever been to the town of Augusta know there is NOTHING to do there.
Ghost town 51 weeks of the year although there is a nice Art Museum if you are ever passing through. https://www.themorris.org/
Tiger -1 on opening round - Looked good - got into some trouble and had to hit from some imperfect lies - still recovered on 9 - The first birdie on the par 3 was just sick - signature Tiger - some great long putts. Great opening round IMHO - Wish him the best!
The wind got a lot of them today! Looks like Spieth and Koepka are among those who will miss the cut.
Tiger makes the cut - Pretty damn cool - Shows he can have a bad day and tough it out - has to build confidence going into the weekend
Wow wow wow!! Total domination by Scheffler! Incredible round of 64 by McIlroy. Over the years I say when The Masters is over spring is well and truly here.
Steelton says it was boring...does that mean these 2 shots were the best of the weekend? I didn't watch anything but these 2 shots right now....
The Masters is always an event. I think it was categorized as “boring” because Scottie had the lead with no real contenders, so it was an easy “win.” That last hole 4 putt double bogey was embarrassing, but hey he won it. The most remarkable feat I thought was Tiger…. To play competitively 13 1/2 months after a comminuted open tib/fib and foot fracture is a damn miracle. He never ceases to amaze. I think the hills took their toll over the last two days, though he did a good job hiding his distress. He should do better at St. Andrews because it's nearly dead flat. He'll have to stay out of those pot bunkers, though!
This is a little O/T, but since we're talking golf here, I need to ask the question: does anyone else here agree with me that The Players Championship at Ponte Vedra should be officially designated the fifth major championship? To me, everything about it says "major championship", and it's been going long enough that it has a pedigree. And is there any law that says that there should only be four majors? (It there was, I'd eliminate the (British) Open only because it's not a PGA event, in spite of its long and storied history.)
