Well, from Bandini's attire alone, there's no doubt that it was taken at the same time as the other two images. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well, considering that the photos are from my archives, I can 100% verify that all of the photos were taken on the same day and with 0846. My father spent time with Ferrari, Ford and Porsche at the '67 Daytona 24 hours during pre-race practice and testing.
Nathan your snide winking won't change the fact that Ferrari has stated in writing that I shouldn't have taken 0846's original chassis out of their scrap bin and used it to Resurrect 0846 and that the legal identity of Ferrari 0846 was established in a legal proceeding and that Legal Identity can not be challanged by anyone ever and has been accepted by US and Italian Customs and Motor Vehicle Authorities.
I found an article reprinted from VeloceToday.com, when they ran an Eric Nielson article in 2005 that discussed a P3/4 that had been burned out but rebuilt. As the article ended, they said something like it was up to Ferrari to judge today (in 2005) whether the restored car was really 0846 or merely a replica. Since I am coming across this six years later, I was wondering if that question has been adjudicated by Ferrari or not, if they have issued an opinion and everybody's happy now....
So far as I know only Courts of Law and the procedures there under can "adjudicate" and this issue has been adjudicated and the last time I spoke to Ferrari they told me "If your happy we're happy." I'm quite happy.
Took 0846 for a long drive this morning. Weather was perfect and she really ran well. The leaves were swirling and I was smiling... Back after the drive... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nothing like taking out the sports car in the crisp autumn air. Time to hop in the TR3... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks. That's the result of four years of work, including body and paint, done by me in my garage. I learned a whole new set of skills on this project.
Jim, do you have any pics of the combustion chamber? I believe these are 3 valve heads and I am curious to know the chamber design more specifically if Ferrari were the first company to use a 'pent roof' design, which I *think* they were I just don't know how early. Also, without reading through 243 pages of stuff here, has it ever been determined or reasonably conjectured who or whom might have removed 0846 from the factory scrap heap?
I am happy to find my friend's shot of John Surtees and the P3 here. That's where it belongs. Here's another one from the same race (1000 km Nürburgring 1966). Image Unavailable, Please Login
