Since Dave is busy driving it, here the quick update: He got it today! It has a few minor issues, but nothing worth worrying, so chances are excellent that we'll get to see it at the next event, which will be Ferraris on Monroe Street!
I motion for an impromptu meet with Dave and his NEW CAR!!! At the Tower of Pisa YMCA on Touhy Av. sometime this weekend... Any takers??? Dave?(especially...) Maybe we can see the Daytona,too...???
I was there when it arrived......I hope the pics I took turn out OK. We have some detailing issues to attend to, so the 'coming-out' party may be delayed! Frank, don't get over anxious, I'm sure Dabe......yes that's Dabe, will only want the car to be seen when it's in pristine condition. I've offered my services and we will be working on it.
Awwww.... COME ON! We are all like family awaiting to hear about a brother / sister who are at the hospital in labor... IS SHE HERE??? PICS? DIRTY / CLEAN / WHATEVER !!!!
Dave calls it "a boy". Healthy with a few small blemishes. Nothing that would even show up on a picture. He is busy burning the old fuel off.
Sorry about not filling everyone in yesterday, but I've been out playing with the new toy. The delivery took place yesterday around noon, so I played hookie from the office for a couple of hours. Skip Williamson met me at my house to lend a helping hand. The driver had problems with the trailer's tail gate. One of the cables came off the counter balance so we just had to wait while he fixed it. I bought this car "sight unseen" so the tail gate issue was a bit untimely. After the driver got the tailgate fixed I got my first look. All bridled & saddled, I carefully backed the car off the ramp, and Skip & I proceeded to do the inspection. We found a few minor issues that were unexpected. I am in contact with the dealer regarding those issues. Skip & I went for a test drive. This was my first time driving a Boxer and I'm very pleased with my choice, as the car is everything I expected in performance. I would say torque is at least double that of a 308 QV. The car will just lay you back in the seat on acceleration. I had the car out tonight as well, and am getting much better with the clutch. Only stalled him once at a light. I'll also have the car out tommorow. The weather looks great. Heres a few pics. Enjoy. That is AWSOME Dave !!! NICE CAR!!! We need to have a birthday party for it now!!! I hope you have drip pans on your lift under your 308 to protect your new baby?? Show more pictures, i am sure you will be out driving it today, weather is great, have my baby out today.... I think you and Skip need to start polishing that Exhaust system to match your 308 ??? You use that special rubbing compound on it called TUBI ????
Pictures look fantastic! But what vanity of yours to already name the lift after your two babies: Bendl pack tsktsktsk
Dave - that is sooo sweet! oh, the jealousy! If you find yourself on a nice long drive up north, swing by! Promise not to drool too much on her.... just beautiful!
