That's been happening for a long long time

    https://gmauthority.com/blog/2014/10/when-a-v6-dips-into-the-7s-video/

Hence, the video of the 2014 GS Nationals in Kentucky should be no surprise to Buick fans. Tony Gomes ran a 7.637 @ 184.32 ET for the win, beating Gary Harmon’s 7.775 @ 175. Is there a faster V6 out there?

I did, heavy, electric sled, with huge annoying screens and very few tactile controls, again, annoying and not exotic or a pleasure to drive...

and the heavy hand of government regulation is not giving me any illusions 'times are changing' due to something better, in many ways electric are sideways moves at best and backwards in other, nothing about it is better in every way.

I wouldn't call it 'hanging' being 30+ seconds slower and the Huracan/AV times in the 6min range...so even wider spread. And I wonder how quickly the tires wear out and the brake pads too...

And, how many laps could that Tesla muster before it needs to be parked for an hour or more to charge? (and hot battery has to be cooled, so hour or more, from a supercharger and then it will only get you to about 80% charge) --so that's not hanging at all, gasoline car is back on track in a few minutes.

I would say Ferrari disagrees with you, as well as every other manufacturer of cars. But you I suppose you are the boss and know better then everybody else in this small world.

It's funny how these companies that have built thier very business around ICE engines and have spent countless dollars refining the sounds they make are so quick to throw them aside without hardly putting up a fight.

They did indeed fight it in the past..because the tech just was not there. But now? The sky is the limit performance wise they are not limited anymore with packaging issues. They know what they are doing.

I love old steam trains and still have a rotary phone. Do I wish for there return? Nope..but it does not mean I don't like them.

There is plenty of cool old stuff we all love to look at and own. But time and tech marches on. ICE has had its day..and it was a very long run. But now it's time for the next revolution in transportation.

It's either move with it, or get out of the way. It will not wait for you.

Sorry for being dense, in what way is Ferrari disagreeing with my comments?

You do realize it is the heavy hand of EU (and China) regulations that are causing the problem. And how do you fight unelected bureaucrats in Brussels (Belgium -EU Parliament)?

You might look in Ferrari's annual reports, they are being dragged into hybrid/full EV, it's not a willing moving whatsoever. They are seeking derogations whereever they can and did you hear Leiters, again, at the Daytona SP3 reveal, continuing to "fight" for the V12.

So, I guess I not sensing Ferrari or others are all that excited about electric at all. After all, VW/Audi almost disbanded/sold off Lamborghini not that long ago, it was on the block.

One thing that bothers me is people saying how good a Tesla is for $150k. Elon musk has received 4 billion from the feds.... so whAt is the real cost of these cars? Think how successful anyone would be with that kind of help.

Ferrari would lose some money..but honestly they could stop producing cars and be OK. They make.more on trinkets and what not anyways.

VW/Audi will chop and sell anything. They are not a nostalgic company. If it makes money they buy it. If it doesn't they chop it.

Honestly they have the exact mindset of the founders if you get my drift. Funny how they are on the forefront of getting rid of the GAS engine.

Just wondering where all the lobbying groups are... fighting on behalf of the gas engine..sitting in front of congress etc battling for its existence.. not much going on there.

hands down right now the best platform is a hybrid--F1 and LeMans (the pinnacle of racing) are both hybrid series. ever watch formula e? hybrids from nearly 10 years ago (p1, laferrari, 918) can lap the 'ring almost a minute faster than the model plaid.

battery technology will be faster than the hybrid platform once they increase the energy density of battery packs by 5 - 10x; I'm confident the cool issue can be sorted

something to consider in the discussion.....
if you take ALL of the known lithium today (mined and not yet mined), and line that up against the number of EV's projected to be produced in the world between now and 2035, there is only enough to build 30% of the cars that will be built in the usa alone....in other words, by the time we get to 2026, we will already not have enough lithium for just the EV cars that they want to build in America....

    then what?

my guess is that sometime sooner than you think, the world will realize that the 'EV's for everyone' dream may not become reality, and yet good old oil and ice cars will still be around.....

quick web search reveals many lobbying efforts to save ICE...when an opinion is actually a factual assertion, I think it would be easier for you to research claims and provide supporting evidence, just the same...current affairs are quite numerous...

The oil companies shot their shot. They spent YEARS keeping electric cars off the market.

But now the tech companies have competing dollars to buy politicians. So, they say "give Elon the green money" and congress does.

Big oil didn't just disappear. They lost the gunfight.

Oh, that tech is WELL on it's way to production. Sodium and solid state batteries are diligently being designed as we speak. There is a MONSTROUS amount of venture capital being thrown at next gen battery tech right now.

So fear not. By the time we get to 2030, we'll have a whole new kind of battery going into these cars.

I really think within 10 years you will look at those gas cars in your garage like a pack a cigarettes that has zero place in your home. Electric conversion will be the order of the day. You may not want to believe it..but that day will arrive.

    i ride horses as well.
before i moved to houston i had 5 of them, and used them 3-5 times per week to play polo and get exercise.
there was a place for them in my life, that neither another animal, or another vehicle could perform.

    its the same here.
the EV's may eventually be a better vehicle for certain purposes, but not necessarily all purposes.

Who cares, move with it ? , Im 57, and ICEs will be around new and or used for the rest of my life , we dont give a care if it does not wait for us , ICEs have not had their day, they will be around for a long time coming. Ferrari can do whatever the F*** they want to when it comes to slot cars, there will be plenty of real Ferraris to go around for decades to come, its that simple. We all can see how really popular Formula E is , good grief .

    Thank you

Don't be so sure about that, you are only 10 years older then I am. Formula E is growing in popularity ever year. It's very aggressive racing. It is not just noise that makes the racing exciting

This stuff is moving fast..very fast..faster then even I think. Enjoy your ICE while you can..because it's time is very limited
