I have a set of 1960's Minilite wheels that use a dimensionally different kind of valve stem .

This stem, was the last one on the set, before getting sliced for the wheel resto.

    Dimensions:
    OAL : 47mm
Depth of valve hole in wheel: 15.25
ID: of valve in wheel: 15.5mm

    Any ideas of potential source?

    Regards, Alberto

You should ask Longstone Tire since they are on the forum. I can tell you there were some bad tire valve stems coming out of China. The stems were shearing because the rubber compound was out of spec.

Have you tried one of our OEM aluminum stems??
By eye, it looks like almost the same wheel boss depth.....

Ricambi may have them, don't you see them on your 246??

It's a bolted aluminum hard stem, there's no rubber at all except the sealing gaskets, and the stem itself is threaded which would tolerate a wide range of wheel castings I would think.

I can get a picture off of one of my spare 14"s if you don't have them on yours...

My wheels are on a shelf, no air in them...:)
    Love to see a pic.

Not great, but it's a solid metal bolt in stem...surely there's another discussion here on them, because the pop in rubber ones get dinged in Judging all the time, unless it's a newer model.

For the 70s cars this is what Ferrari used...

In the pile of parts I discovered some metal valve stems, and see if they fit right.
    Will post.
Thank you all for the great help and links!

As mentioned there's a sealing rubber gasket, on the inside, IIRC

I am for the life of me trying to recall the manufacturer......I guess I could look at one!
    Looks like you found it..
