Gonna have a 16M style (F430 spider conversion) genuine ferrari parts, done properly. But i really want to know if lettered tires is a bit too far?
Do what you like. Besides its not like the tires are going to last forever anyway. If you don't like it the lettering will be gone once the tires wear out and get replaced.
IMHO its a bit boy-racerish for my taste... but of course the tires wont last forever... so if it suits your style go for it! Not like you cant ever go back
I think it depends on the tires. When I think "lettered tires," my first thought is '60s muscle car, not modern day exotic. That said, I've seen concept cars (renderings perhaps) with more subtle lettering and they've looked good, and reminiscent of F1 cars. It's all about the execution.
Like this? If so I think it looks good if done right. It's unique and not forever. Go for it. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have noticed this trend much more in the JDM crowd lately. I don't mind the look, but I can imagine that it is not for everyone.
It has to be executed right. What I mean is a car doesnt look good to have sporty racy tires if the car itself look subtle and stock. That car in the photo lools like incomplete. You need to have a body kit and others to complete the race look.
Yup. To name a few to match the tires. It needs oversized front, side and rear diffusers, high and wide carbon fiber wings, and sporty hood. That should be the least done to this F430 before thinking of painting the tires. It has to be executed right for the tires to fit-in.
I thought about this a while ago when I saw a video on YouTube about the company that makes those tire stickers. I think they wouldn't work on our Ferraris because they add visual noise to the clean look of the cars. As others have said, if the car was a totally modded out road race car, then maybe. Otherwise, leave the white letters to OEM tires on trucks and muscle cars.
Last time I had letters on my tires was on my Pontiac Firebird Trans Am from the mid seventies. To each his own. Maybe you'll bring them back into fashion. I HAD to have them on my Trans Am so I understand completely
Hmmm thanks for the response guys! In hindsight should of done a poll, and yeah as for that pic that is a bit over sized for my liking, i was just thinking of a smallish 5inch wide Pirelli one?

Now that works for the f430. Not 360 because of the smooth lines but if it has the challenge body kit then it will look good on the 360.
