I have been advised that the torsion damper on my 456M GTA needs replacement. This part seems to be no longer available. ferrari torsion damper 167881 There is a damper for a manual available has anyone replaced the specific automatic part with the manual part. Any guidance support or information is welcome. As this potentialy makes the car a ‘write off’.

Do some research on people who rebuild these. We have a number of good vendors here in the US, but I don't know about the UK. I would NOT buy a used dampner unless it was a pull from a known good engine, or you know the breaker very well. Sometimes there are issues with loosening of the rubber buffer, or issues with the keyway, etc.
Thanks for the info. I have yet to find a UK supplier that offers a rebuild service. It’s a discontinued part. No stock available anywhere worldwide. Eurospares, Ricambi, Suderia Classic, no Maranello stock parts. It’s not looking good.
