Hi - Just finished installing new thermostats and decided to go through my cooling system generally to make sure everythings's ok and discovered that the left hand fan isn't coming on at the same time as the right hand one.

Electrics were a little tired so stripped it all back to install new connections, however upon testing the voltage to the left hand fan is only 4-5 volts when trying to activate.

Connected the fan itself to 12v and it works fine, so no issues with the fan itself.

    Any help appreciated. Thanks

The LH water fan gets it's +12V from relay "H" and the only connection between the two is the "J" connector on the fuse panel. The wire is blue with a black trace. Pull the "J" connector and inspect for a burned connection (very common problem). Bending the two contact prongs closer together on that pin and reinstalling the connector may get you (temporarily) back to +12V. Let us know. If it does then you should consider bypassing that connection (as well as the solid blue wire from the RH fan) with a Dave Helms fuse panel upgrade or a similar repair. If not it will likely happen again. If the connection seems OK you can swap with the RH fan relay ("L") to see if the problem moves but this is very unlikely--I'd be very surprised if it isn't the "J" connector.

Hi Tim - Exactly as you described, the 'J' block connection not making correct contact. Fuse board looks ok, no burnt connections etc. Many thanks

However, just run through everything to check and when I switch between dipped main beam and full beam on the headlamps, both bulbs on the left hand side go out. Go back to dipped main beam and they work fine! Any ideas?

Edit on light issue - Sorted.

Another loose connection on the grey / black wire. Maybe winter project to change board!

    Thanks again
