I'm sorry if this is a repost, I did search but could not find a discussion on this for the TR. I found a two threads for the 355 and 348.

Anyway, is it possible to replace the TR's t-belt without engine removal? Would removing the tanks give enough room? THanks.

Removing the left belt cover with the oil tank in the car is almost impossible and the motor needs to be out to get the oil tank out.

TR is the easiest of all the subframe cars to remove. In the amount of time required to remove the right belt cover the motor can be out AND partially reinstalled.

It may just be possible to do it with the tanks out but the difficulty would be great. As removing a TR motor is not that bad (a weekend of relaxed effort) and it is so much easier to work on everythin then I would suggest that.

I can't imagine changing the belts with the motor in. I had to change 2 fuel lines due to a leak, and it was dam* near impossible...
