Guys/Gals, Bought a battery conditioner for my 328 earlier in the year following some great advice in the thread below. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=36529 However i have recently purchased a Dino GT 1971 which has the 'Old Fashioned Cigarette lighter' is there an adapter i can use? Has anyone else encountered this problem? Thanking you all in advance.
I looked all over for an adaptor for my C4. Never did find one, so I just use the direct connects to the battery termianls. My charger includes a quick disconnect adaptor that you can leave connected to the battery all the time and plug in quickly in the garage.
1. Congrats on the Dino. Pix?? serial #???? 2. I have a battery tender on my dino. Ran the wires up through the spare, and twist tied the connector to the spare tire hold down. Then a quick pop of the lid, plug 'er in, and walk away. Not quite as convenient as the cig lighter, but not a bad arrangement.
Why do you need a battery conditioner? My battery is very strong, maybe because I don't have any radio or air cond in the car.
At this time of year, my car doesn't get out a lot. I have a modern radio in the car, and it eats about 1% a day of the battery power. Also, just sitting a battery will tend to discharge somewhat. I like to have 100% of my battery to crank the motor, hence the tender. It's 20 degrees today, a little cold for cruising the neighborhood in the Dino.
I'll check serial tonight. Pictures attached Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
There are a couple options...I have seen Dino owners run the pigtail adapter off the battery, and thread it into the spare tire area, or down below, and foward toward the front bumper. Does the Dino have the trouble light plug, under the dash? You could get an adapter for it: http://www.cyclegadgets.com/Products/product.asp?Item=PLUG
Nope, not on mine at least, not that I know of. I have found that permanently attaching it to the battery, by changing the ends of the connector to large "U" shaped plug, and then threading it up through the spare, is easiest for connecting and disconnecting. No crawling around on the ground to hook it up. DM
