A bit unfair to put V8 pushrod-engined car (Lola T70) against state-of-the-art DOHC 12 cyl engines in the Ferrari 512S and the Porsche 917.
Always liked the Lola for its lines, but the Porsche was a better car.The Ferrari wasn't very successful.

It's interesting that Dario Franchitti has emerged as this sort of motorsport media star.

On first meeting and photographing him as a rookie in CART in 1997 when he drove for Carl Hogan's
team, he was about as shy and aloof as a driver could possibly be, a polar opposite to Tom Kristensen
    for example.

Franchitti had just come over from some successful years running Formula 3 and DTM for Mercedes-Benz,
he was obviously high on Norbert Haug's list when he landed with the Mercedes-Benz powered
Hogan team where he showed a lot of potential but the car and team weren't up to his talent.

    Good for him.
