Dear Mike, I have bought an US cabrio 3.2 from 1985. Do you have these too? Thanks and have a nice weekend Frank
No, mine are euro. The start key system will be similar, only 3 or 4 wires. What are you getting on the dash when you turn the key on ?
Dear Mike, My problem has to do with the LED lights I installed in the mid console. When I switch on the car, the LEDS jump on and of very fast, only once. Afterwards nothing anymore from the LEDS. So my car starts, no problem. The LEDS are the problem. Regards Frank Image Unavailable, Please Login
The car originally had a fibre optic lighting in the central consul from what i recall, is this your problem or have you converted to leds ? The oem lights are supplied from a connection strip C11 which is behind the plate under the passengers feet. Hard to read diagram but might be No7. Its between 5+11
Dear Mike, I have converted it to LEDs. When I connect the LEDs system to a 12v battery, they work (see picture). But when I put the ignition of the car on, the LEDs don’t work. I get no 12v power from the car. So the problem must be in the wiring under the console or as you suggested in the plate under the passengers feet. Is it hard to take this plate of? Thanks Mike! Dear Guido, I have used LEDs of 12v 3mm thik with connectors. I have connected the LEDs in parallel. I have converted the previous system with the light bulb to LEDs as mentioned above in this chat. When I connect the LEDs system to a 12v battery, this systems works (see picture). But when I put the ignition of the car on, the LEDs don’t work. I get no 12v power from the car. Frank, I wanted to see the led itself...some are for 12V others use less current. With those you have to use a resistant or more led's in serie to get 12V.
Dear Guido, hereby the LEDs I used. I have done 4 in parallel, two times. Regards Frank View attachment 2958613
