Hi, so the 550 has wear on the inside edges of the rear tires. Is this how they wear normally ? does the car need adjusting ? Note: I do run the tyres with more pressure than recommended, perhaps 31-34 psi cheers m
Likely the suspension needs aligning, car setting in Ferrarispeak. Needs to be done every 15,000 miles/24,000 kms according to the maintenance schedule, but should also be done whenever you change tires or hit a bad bump/hole. Easy to do on 456s, 550s, and 575s because, unlike most Ferraris, ours use eccentrics to adjust camber.
Thanks T , So yours wear evenly then ? ps: are you going to write a review on the new exhaust system ?
Taz, my 575 is having a new rear tyre fitted (nail) at my Ferrari shop now during its service. They should do the above, but just to be sure, what do I need to ask then to do? Align the suspension, correct?
Marcel- Affirmative, mine wear evenly. The new exhaust sounds great, very deep sound at low revs with the valves open and a high pitched scream as the revs get above 4500 rpm. Pops on upshifts with the valves open and have not tried any high rpm downshifts yet. She does feel like she has added about 50 hp over OEM. Darius- Probably not necessary for just a single tire change, but if you want to be extra careful, have them align both the front and rear suspension, especially if you are uncertain when the last time it was done. Mine was when I changed to MPS4S tires, but I should probably consider doing it again because the car was tied down for the ride from New Mexico to Tennessee (~1200 miles). Now just have to find somebody who can do it.
Greg- I have the headers, cats, and connector pipe to OEM straight center pipes and Superamerica HGTC mufflers (slightly different from 575M HGTC). Knock on wood, but no CELs.
Darius- Not sure which was the better mod, my Mov'It ceramic brakes or Fabio's 6-1 exhaust. Both really make driving a pleasure. The brakes cost a whole lot more.
